00:00Can Kansas City actually do it?
00:06Can they have an unbeaten regular season?
00:08If you are enamored with the goat conversation in the football world, it's far less popular
00:14than in the NBA world, though, due to the effectiveness of the NBA one, they try and
00:20do it in the NFL all the time, and Mahomes is, you know, this generation's the one they
00:25argue, though it's not as if Brady is from decades ago.
00:28He was beating Mahomes not all too long ago in Super Bowls and conference championship
00:33games.
00:34But I guess for Pat, the one thing he could do that Tom wasn't able to do was go unbeaten
00:39and finish it off with a Super Bowl.
00:42Again, if you're enamored with the goat stuff, if Mahomes wins a third straight Super Bowl
00:46and caps it off with an unbeaten season, that would be pretty, pretty remarkable.
00:51But it would begin by going 17-0 in the regular season.
00:55They are currently plus 750 to do so.
01:00Now, if you like the Bills today, then this is irrelevant.
01:04But let me first ask you, Donnie, what you make of that number needing an additional
01:10eight wins to cash that ticket.
01:12They probably won't, because why, nobody does it outside the 72 Dolphins, so we're not going
01:16out on a limb here saying, oh, I don't think they can make it.
01:18That's a hot take at this point.
01:19No, they have a couple spots coming up, which includes today might be the biggest hurdle
01:23of them all.
01:24If they win the season, they'll take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, probably still fighting
01:26for either the division and or playoff seating.
01:29That's going to be a tough one.
01:30Then the Denver Broncos to end the season, which the Broncos on the road just might need
01:33that game.
01:34Let's be honest with ourselves.
01:35The simple question here, what would you rather bet this year, 17-0 or a Super Bowl championship?
01:41To me, I'd actually rather bet the 17-0, as crazy as that sounds, because I don't think
01:45they're the best team in the NFL, which means, yes, they can manage the rest of the schedule.
01:48Now, do I think they're going unbeaten?
01:50No, but I would rather bet that way, because once they get into the playoffs, I understand
01:53last year, they beat the Buffalo Bills, they beat the Baltimore Ravens, they beat the San
01:56Francisco 49ers.
01:58I just don't think they're talented enough to win it again.
02:00And don't, well, look, of course they can win it.
02:03There's a couple teams that can win it.
02:04But if I'm just looking from a betting spot, Joe, I'd rather bet them in the regular season
02:08than in the playoffs, if that makes sense.
02:09It's a tough one, because I look at the schedule and I would go the other way.
02:13And again, it's something that, you know, I would rather take them big picture, Super
02:17Bowl or bust, because when they do get into the playoffs, they seem to kick it up to another
02:22gear and it is Mahomes.
02:23The three games that scare me for the 17 and 0 are the last three games of the regular
02:28season.
02:29Texans at Pittsburgh at Denver, you know, back to back road games with all three of
02:34those teams, you know, three playoff teams right now.
02:37So and that's the biggest thing, I think, when you look at the big picture for the 17
02:42and 0 outside of today, they still have the Chargers, they've owned the Chargers.
02:46But LA's playing very well at six and three overall.
02:49They have more of an offensive identity in the passing attack with Justin Herbert.
02:53So you can never say never, even though the game is in Arrowhead.
02:57So potentially there's five roadblocks that you wouldn't be shocked about if they lost.
03:02Right.
03:03So that's why I mean, the 17 and 0, I mean, Brady couldn't do it, you know, the full way
03:08that team is similar in my regard when he was there with Randy Moss to this team.
03:13Right.
03:14Kelsey is aging.
03:15They have some older veterans on the defensive side of the ball.
03:18But again, I would take the long, longer term approach, Super Bowl or bust, because I honestly
03:24think the 17 and 0 will catch up to them.
03:27So I I do as well because they have shown that it's going to catch up to them.
03:34They again, should have, would have, could have last week to the Denver Broncos.
03:38But the Patriots, when they did it, were hammering teams every week, gas pedal, blow you out
03:42by 30 points.
03:43We're not getting that with Kansas.
03:44No.
03:45Like, that's the thing with.
03:46No, we're not sure if we're watching the best team in football with the Kansas City.
03:51Nobody thinks even the people who pretend that this is like a all time great football
03:57team.
03:58And now they're a dynasty.
03:59But on this current iteration of Kansas City, I agree with you guys.
04:03I'm not all that interested in a plus 750 ticket.
04:06I am fascinated at what that number looks like.
04:09If they get through today, knowing they will be booked as favorites the rest of the way,
04:15the number that I would look at.
04:17And I know you guys are going to tell me I'm nuts.
04:20It's actually the 13 to one for their first loss to be next week at Carolina.
04:27Oh, I understand.
04:30I understand.
04:31Here's my first of all, I know I'm getting a good number, right, because that number's
04:35out already.
04:36The Carolina Moneyline is plus 440.
04:38I'm getting triple that number.
04:40Now it involves Kansas City winning as a dog today.
04:43If you still put those two items in a parlay calculator, you're beating the number.
04:47And also, I just wonder, we talk about hangover spots and letdown spots.
04:50And if Kansas City gets this win in Buffalo and they come out sleepy, the Panthers are
04:55playing better.
04:56They're at home off a bye at 13 to one.
04:58That would be the way I'd give it a shot.
05:00We saw it with San Francisco get the win on the road and then they didn't cover against
05:04Las Vegas.
