#PayoNiDoc

00:00At what point do you realize,
00:01hey, this discipline is paying off?
00:03Do you notice, like, you know,
00:05like, yeah, you realize,
00:06hey, not everything,
00:08not everyone can do the discipline that is needed.
00:12And are you seeing the payoff of that now?
00:14Especially now, especially this season from last year.
00:17The realization point that our work was paying off
00:20is like, last season,
00:22that was the season where I really blew up.
00:27I really felt like,
00:29ah, this is it, this is it.
00:31I can tell my coach that,
00:33coach, thank you,
00:35this is what we've been working on for, what,
00:38two, three years ago.
00:40And it wasn't a smooth sail for me.
00:44Back when I was UE,
00:46my times then, after the pandemic,
00:48I was underperforming.
00:50So, yeah, I still trusted my work.
00:54And then, when I moved to Mapuha,
00:56it paid off, it paid off.
00:58The UAAP experience was hard.
01:00Yes, it was so hard for me.
01:03And not just in the mental aspect.
01:05Because it's the same, right?
01:07If the discipline was easy,
01:09we would all do it, right?
01:11Yes.
01:13That's why it's discipline,
01:15because the payoff is not immediate.
01:17It's not like you exercise,
01:19you'll win the games.
01:21In a way, it requires patience,
01:23keeping and trusting in the process
01:25that at some point,
01:27it will pay off.
01:29That's how I felt during that season,
01:31the UAAP season.
01:33We were 0-14,
01:35no wins, no wins.
01:37But I have this quote,
01:39my favorite quote,
01:41no hard work goes unnoticed.
01:43Even if you don't have an opportunity,
01:45like, you lose,
01:47or you don't have an opportunity.
01:49Eventually, if you keep working hard,
01:51and when that opportunity arises,
01:53you'll be ready and you'll get it.
01:55That's my mentality
01:57throughout my career.
01:59Even though we lost last year,
02:01it hurts, right?
02:03One game away from the championship.
02:05So close.
02:07Yes, so close.
02:09Of course, you're sad,
02:11but at the end of the day,
02:13we need to make that frustration
02:15into motivation,
02:17and that's what drew me to this year.
02:19Definitely, developing
02:21that sense of discipline.
02:23It's hard because
02:25there's no payoff.
02:27Sometimes, you feel like
02:29it's the opposite outcome.
02:31You're working,
02:33but it doesn't pay off.
02:35Eventually, once it becomes a habit,
02:37it's not that hard.
02:39Naturally, you'll wake up early,
02:41you won't miss
02:43your early bedtime call.
02:45True.
02:47Then, it gets easier,
02:49and once the payoff comes in,
02:51why would you ever do
02:53something else?
02:55Yes, that's true.
02:57I tasted it last year.
02:59Based on my experience,
03:01from 2014 season
03:03to KMVP,
03:05that says a lot.
03:07It doesn't come out
03:09of thin air.
03:11It comes from hard work and perseverance.
03:13I got a taste of that,
03:15and I want a taste of something more.
03:17That taste of something more is championship.
03:19I want this this season.
