00:00Good morning, my name is Phil Hewitt, Greek Arts Editor at Sussex Newspapers. Always lovely
00:06to speak to James Etheridge. Now, you are doing something fabulous, aren't you, with
00:10the Birthstep Boys coming up, start of December, in Bognor. Two projects coming together, Choir
00:15in the Day and an evening concert. What's happening and when?
00:20Absolutely. So, yeah, we are kind of combining two projects into one. So, Choir in the Day
00:26is taking place on the 7th of December at St Wilfrid's Church, and this is for anyone
00:33who loves to sing, loves a bit of a challenge, to come together to create a choir in a day.
00:39They will be learning several festive numbers, including a medley called The Bells of Christmas.
00:48They will learn all those songs during the day, and then they will take part in our larger
00:52concert in the evening. And the larger concert is also taking place at St Wilfrid's Church
00:59at 6.30pm on the 7th of December, so it's all in one day. And that concert, the lineup
01:08for that concert is amazing. We have got Phoenix Big Band, who are based in Arundel, and who
01:13play throughout the whole of the southeast of England. They are amazing. We've been lucky
01:19enough to play with them this summer in another project, and honestly, it's just everything
01:24that a big band stands for, these guys and girls bring to the stage. So, it's going to
01:29be fantastic. We've then got the Choir in a Day, who will be performing their songs
01:34that they've learnt throughout the day. And then we've also got the Christmas Quintet,
01:38which is made up of the Three Bursted Boys. So, anyone that knows the Bursted Boys who've
01:43been singing for the last three years in Bognor, we're coming together with two female vocalists
01:48to create the Christmas Quintet. And we'll be bringing some harmonised songs, and the
01:53Bursted Boys will be bringing out of their repertoire a version of the 12 Days of Christmas,
02:01which we did 10 years ago. We've been singing now for 11 years. So, it's 11 years. Yeah,
02:09we celebrated our 10 years last year, but it's 10 years of Bursted Arts this year. But
02:14it's now 11 years for Bursted Boys. We started just a little bit before. So, we will be bringing
02:19our own little version of the 12 Days of Christmas to the audience. So, for Choir in a Day, anyone
02:26that wants to sing can pre-book now on our website at BurstedArts.com, and we ask them
02:37to do that before December 1st. Yes, so that we can get information out to them, we can
02:42get links to them, so they can start thinking about the music and stuff, and start kind
02:46of getting familiar with the music. Those that don't want to sing, but want to come
02:50and see the show, tickets are on sale now, also from BurstedArts.com, and they are just
02:56£8. £8 a ticket with no booking fee. Don't think you're going to get much better than
03:01that in Bognor this Christmas. A big band, lots of singing, lots of festive joy, and
03:08we just want to spread Christmas cheer to everyone.
03:10So, it's St Wilford's Church, Ellesdale Road, Saturday, December 7th. It sounds brilliant.
03:16That's it.
03:17Good to speak to you. Thank you.
03:18Thank you very much. Good to speak to you too.
