Apparently, budget might also be an issue for extraterrestrials!
Transcript
00:00If aliens really existed, some scientists wonder why they haven't reached Earth or
00:08made contact yet.
00:09Science Alert reports that it could be because, it's too expensive for extraterrestrials
00:13to visit our planet.
00:15Think about it in terms of our history of space exploration.
00:18Sending astronauts to the moon during the Apollo program cost $25.4 billion, or about
00:23$150 billion in today's money, according to CNN.
00:27Even before that, Project Mercury and Project Gemini cost about $2.3 and $10 billion respectively,
00:33and that's from June 1958 to 1972.
00:36Now we have Project Artemis, which will cost about $30 billion over the next four years.
00:41That's a lot of money just to get to our own moon, so the cost of interstellar missions
00:44would be astronomical.
00:46Not to mention, we don't know whether interstellar travel is even feasible or practical for an
00:50alien civilization, and they might not even be motivated to colonize other star systems.
