00:00I know how much professional care work means to the Deputy Prime Minister. Carried care
00:09homes in Porthmadog tell me they will not be able to absorb the additional exorbitant
00:14costs imposed by her Government's budget. They tell me they believe this poses a threat
00:20worse than covid to their business. Will she personally intervene, therefore, so that her
00:26Government at least make care providers exempt from the rise in employers' national insurance
00:32contributions?
00:33She is absolutely right to say that I absolutely value the work of care providers and carers
00:42across the whole of the UK. That is why we have put additional funding in through the
00:47budget as well. We have also been making sure that care providers and those who work in
00:52charities, including hospices, are among the most generous in the world. This includes
01:01tax reliefs for charities and their donors worth over £6 billion for the tax year of
01:06April 2024. We have put record funding into our NHS. We have increased funding into adult
01:13social care and children's social care and will continue to support our public services
01:16that were left on the knees by the last Government.
