Hear from Shira Yevin, founder of Gritty In Pink, an organization that provides gigs, information and community for women within the music industry.
On every episode of Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch, contestants looking to make their mark on the business world must prove that they have what it takes in 60 seconds or less. If their pitch captures our board of investors' hearts and minds, life-changing money is sure to follow. But if they lock up, stumble or bring investors a been-there-done-that idea, it's game over.
Whether it's on our show or out in the world, if you're an entrepreneur about to pitch investors, Dhani Jones breaks down his best advice for success: "Know your target audience, the demand and the growth potential of your product. If you can demonstrate a path from niche to mainstream, that's how you get our attention. Show us that you've done the homework."
Find out who wins big and who goes home empty-handed on an all-new Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch!

00:01Going up.
00:02Hi, I'm Shira, founder CEO of Gritty in Pink.
00:05We're transforming the future of freelance
00:07in music, events, and beyond.
00:08On the freelance side, women earn 50% less
00:11on digital platforms.
00:12Enter InPink, a marketplace to hire
00:14female freelancers and teams.
00:16AI matching and a fair pay scale.
00:18With $350,000 in transactions,
00:21we're launching a pilot with our lead investor
00:23Live Nation.
00:24We're seeking $500,000.
00:26We're seeking $300,000 for 5%
00:28to close our $1 million pre-seed round.
00:30Let's get gritty.
00:36What is the product?
00:37Is it a marketplace for female contractors?
00:41It seems like it.
00:42I like the fact that she is partnered with Live Nation.
00:45But I think we've seen a few of these bitches before, Mark.
00:49What makes her company different?
00:51These are some questions that we can ask
00:53depending upon if we want to vote yes or no.
00:56Let's see.
00:58Approved.
00:59I think you've clarified that you're exploring
01:01multiple categories.
01:02The music industry is where you are right now,
01:04and sports is where you want to go.
01:06But there's a couple other pieces in between
01:08that, for me, are a little bit out of sorts, so to speak.
01:12For me, I'm just going to have to pass at this point.
01:14Thank you for your consideration.
01:16The problem is I might know too much,
01:18which is in season 11, we actually had
01:22a young woman come on.
01:23Giggs.
01:24Giggs, correct.
01:25I do understand what Giggs' business model is,
01:27and the fact that I was an investor in the company.
01:29Not only is it probably not appropriate for me
01:31to also have the second investment in a similar company,
01:33but knowing what I know, I think I'm going to have to pass.
01:38My actual biggest concern is you don't have
01:40a technical co-founder.
01:41That makes me nervous, so unfortunately,
01:43I'm going to pass.
01:45Okay.
01:46Well, thank you for your consideration.
01:48It was great meeting all of you.
01:49They did make some good points, but I'm going to keep going,
01:52and I know this is not the last they'll see of me.
