The Madani government has accepted its D grade from electoral reform watchdog, Bersih but is positive it will get an improved grade in the future, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said such a grading from Bersih’s recent report on the government performance is acceptable considering the government has only served for just two years.

00:00Honourable Minister, we, the opposition, share the same spirit.
00:06Honourable Minister, in carrying out reforms as has always been said,
00:11we are together with you to fight corruption,
00:15to fight for media freedom,
00:17to strengthen the democratic system and the rights of the people.
00:21At the same time, there are still those who are not satisfied
00:26with the achievement of the Madani government today.
00:29For example, the introduction of the NGO Pro PH mark,
00:34namely BERSIH, which questions Halal 7
00:37as well as the success of the government today
00:39on the promise to implement the manifesto as in the book,
00:43the PAH-PIRU 15 offer manifesto.
00:45I am not satisfied when this rating is placed by BERSIH.
00:49Honourable Ministers who have just returned from abroad,
00:53number 3 is lower than Ismail Sabri and Dr. Mahathir.
00:58This is not good, I can't accept it.
01:00Because of my minister.
01:02Therefore, in the Malaysian population,
01:05it fell to the 34th place in the media freedom index.
01:10This 20-24 may be due to the many who were called
01:14and banned their social media accounts
01:16because of refusing to work in the implementation of PH promises
01:20before becoming a government.
01:22I ask the Minister of Communications to change this reshuffle.
01:26I ask for an explanation, Honourable Minister of Communications,
01:28in the freedom of speech that was fought before this.
01:34My question is already two questions.
01:35My third question is also the same with the appointment of the Chief of Staff
01:38in the Agency for Strengthening Power,
01:40such as the Chairman of the SPRM,
01:43as an example in the government that was promised by the Honourable Minister of Communications.
01:47It must be approved by the Executive Power of the Special Election of the Parliament
01:50in the form of a more transparent petition.
01:53For me to support the good governance
01:56together with the Honourable Minister of Communications
01:58who is fighting against the bad things that happened before this.
02:01Finally, I want to get certainty
02:05in relation to the approval of political funding
02:07and the funding for the development of the Special Election of the Parliament,
02:10equally to all MPs of the Parliament,
02:13without counting the parties.
02:14Where does the Honourable Minister of Communications want to bring this matter?
02:18Because it is still dark.
02:20It is still dark.
02:21We can see the darkness of hope to be realized.
02:23I would like to ask for a detailed explanation.
02:26Thank you, Mr. Pendang.
02:31About the media, the freedom of speech index,
02:34I accept it because
02:36we are also tied to the issue of 3R.
02:39For the time being, we allow people to speak.
02:43But the courts in the Malay government are very firm.
02:49So, we are also tied to the view of the government
02:53that they do not want
02:56and allow any violence
03:00to the people
03:02without action.
03:04If there is violence,
03:06I will still stand firm.
03:09There is no action.
03:10But if there is a police report,
03:12let the police handle it.
03:14I don't really care about such things.
03:18So, I accept the statement of the Honourable Minister of Communications
03:22that there is a need for us to improve this perception.
03:26But we have a limit.
03:28That's the only problem.
03:30About the appointment of the SPRM,
03:34at first, after I took over,
03:37the process could not be fully completed
03:40only after we discussed
03:43for the approval of Mr. Baudeli and Mr. Agung.
03:46The political action is still being investigated by the authorities.
03:50If it is implemented, I have no objection to it.
03:54Even in the meeting of the Ministerial Assembly,
03:56we agree to implement it.
03:58But there are parameters to be discussed
04:00by the Minister of Communications.
04:05As for cleanliness,
04:07it's okay to give D, but not F.
04:10Hopefully, it will be UPSRD,
04:13SPRM.
04:15The SPRM will go up to A, God willing.
04:17It smells so bad.
04:20As for the approval,
04:22I don't understand.
04:24I don't know if this is included in the cleanliness report.
04:28It ignores the fact that
04:31at that time, I was the head of the committee.
04:33And I voted.
04:35The authorities voted,
04:36and I also voted with the Ministerial Assembly.
04:39And after the vote,
04:41it was decided.
04:42We didn't accept the draft at first.
04:44We accepted the draft that was moved.
04:47As you know,
04:49our view of TPM2 is clear.
04:55There must be a vote.
04:57But it seems that
04:59the opposition to the vote
05:01caused this matter to be delayed.
05:04So, if you agree
05:06to be one of the voters,
05:08please vote now.
05:09And if you agree,
05:11we will accept it.
