00:56I call the mice that live in the village the Bramble family
00:59because they live by where the blackberries grow.

01:09Then there's the Honeysuckle family,
01:11who live in the log pile by the Honeysuckle tree.
01:13You can see the Honeysuckle family right in force,
01:16making most of the nice weather.
01:18Never the two shall meet, because when they do,
01:26it's a world war.
01:34Back in 2020, I was photographing birds in my garden.
01:38And there it goes.
01:41Hey, mouse, what are you doing?
01:43And I looked down at some mouse and thought, that's interesting.
01:46Goodness me, that's just magical.
01:50Oh, my goodness, look how many mice are in that log.
01:54And then I spotted a whole family of mice living in an old log.
01:59I know lots of people consider them as pests,
02:02but they give me so much joy.
02:05When's food coming out? Is that all you ever think about, food?
02:09So I was inspired to do something special for the mice.
02:12I started to build them small little houses.
02:15That's the magical log house I made.
02:19Looks like it's going to be a good night tonight, mouse.

02:29And then it became a small village within the garden.
02:34If I've had a bad day at work, as soon as I go up garden and spot a mouse,
02:38it just makes me smile.

02:45My garden's not just a home to the mouse family.
02:48It's also a home to various hedgehogs,
02:52lots of bird species,
02:55frogs.
02:56Goodness me, that's absolutely magical.
03:00And two foxes that visit nightly.
03:05As my grandkids say, it's like a mini nature reserve on your back garden, Grandad.
