00:00I had no idea that he loved pumpkins until this first Halloween.
00:04He was going to find a way to get out and get people's pumpkins.
00:08I didn't realize pigs could be such escape artists.
00:12It didn't matter what I tried.
00:14Changing the locks, changing the leash.
00:18He was able to open the door to his room, the door to the house.
00:30Okay, so the weirdest thing just happened.
00:32I came outside.
00:34My pig is eating the face off of a jack-o'-lantern, which would be totally fine,
00:38except I did not carve a jack-o'-lantern this year.
00:41So, someone out there is missing their pumpkin.
00:44When I first heard about this pumpkin thief pig, I knew I wanted to produce a video about him,
00:48but I had no idea the story was about to take an unexpected twist.
00:52How are you feeling? Are you nervous about how the neighbors are going to react?
00:56Yes, I was very nervous when I saw that Carlton had torn up someone's jack-o'-lantern.
01:01I went to our neighborhood group and just made a post apologizing.
01:06But everyone was amazing.
01:09Thank you, guys!
01:11After Halloween, everybody wanted to bring their pumpkins to Carlton.
01:16Do you want to give him one?
01:19Good job!
01:21Carlton, you have a visitor!
01:26Is that Carl?
01:28We would come outside and there would be pumpkins sat all over the porch for Carlton to eat.
01:35Can you say, Carlton? Carlton!
01:39Carlton ate so many pumpkins in the front yard.
01:42He's rolling it so the seeds will fall out.
01:46And when pigs eat, they kind of take their nose like a shovel and smear stuff around.
01:50So, I think he just planted his own garden.
01:54In the spring, a complete surprise to me.
01:57My entire front yard sprouted into a pumpkin patch.
02:03They're everywhere.
02:07So now, Carlton grows his own pumpkins.
02:11He grew himself a pumpkin patch?
02:13He did, yeah.
02:15No, he didn't.
02:16It was a total surprise to me.
02:18The next thing I knew, we had like 200 pumpkins in the front yard.
02:22Carlton, look what you grew!
02:26After I realized how much Carlton loved pumpkins,
02:29I kind of asked the neighbors, what does everyone do with their jack-o-lanterns after Halloween?
02:33And found out that most people were just composting them or throwing them away.
02:36So, last Halloween, we asked the neighbors if we could have their pumpkins
02:40and they went above and beyond.
02:42So, we were able to take those pumpkins and donate them to the pig rescue
02:46where I actually rescued Carlton.
02:50I was fortunate to get a chance to meet up with Carlton and Amanda in person.
02:55Amazing!
02:56To help deliver pumpkins to some very grateful pigs.
02:59This is like Dodo Inception.
03:01Dodo Inception!
03:05You gotta be fast!
03:08To anyone out there who thinks they might have an opportunity to smash pumpkins for rescue pigs,
03:13I say take it immediately.
03:15It is the best.
03:20Which one is this Tracy?
03:22It was never my intention to start one of the city's largest green initiatives.
03:26I'm so glad that we did, but that's just Carlton.
