00:00Do as you've been trained to do, and kill the Malaysian Prime Minister!
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for bad guys and gals in movies
00:12who never fail to crack us up, whether on purpose or not.
00:16Pull the lever, crunk.
00:19Wrong lever!
00:23Number 30, Leslie Chow, The Hangover Franchise.
00:26You said he was your lucky charm, and you want to take him home with you.
00:29This bad guy is a man of many vices and extreme excess.
00:33Stuck somewhere at the crossroads of irritating, vindictive, and hysterical, this pint-sized
00:39villain constantly proves to be the bringer of misfortune to the Wolfpack, otherwise known
00:43as Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug.
00:45Holla, city of squalor!
00:48An international criminal in the drug world, and one with a unique sense of style, that
00:53is, when he's actually wearing clothes, Mr. Chow is definitely the most unpredictable
00:58bad guy on our list, partly because he keeps going from antagonist to protagonist and back
01:03again, and partly because he's on a lot of drugs.
01:06You ever do anything that doesn't end up in a standoff, Chow?
01:09I'm an international criminal.
01:11It always ends like this.
01:13Number 29, Strawns and Fairchild von Waldenberg, Blades of Glory.
01:17Nothing breaks up a team faster than herpes.
01:20Jealousy.
01:21Could there be anything more evil than a pair of figure skating siblings defending their
01:25championship?
01:26These two give us chills on and off the ice, but it's not exactly for their terrifying
01:31abilities.
01:32These brats will do everything to get to the top of competitive ice skating, except, of
01:37course, any real honest work.
01:39Those two are nothing but a couple of freaks.
01:41Yeah, and the media loves freaks.
01:43They're spoiled, unreasonable, and manipulative, but they have a wicked sense of style, as
01:49any Will Ferrell movie villain would.
01:51Honestly, they're so evil, yet hilarious, it's mind-boggling.
01:56It's mind-boggling, isn't it?
01:58Did you just say mind-boggling?
01:59Yeah, mind-boggling.
02:01Number 28, Russ Cargill, The Simpsons Movie.
02:07As the Supreme Commander of the EPA, Russ Cargill may be the most successful man in
02:12America, but he's also heading the least successful government agency, at least according
02:17to him.
02:18I'll take care of everything.
02:19You know nothing.
02:20But that's the root of what makes him funny, as he takes his job description in a benign
02:24part of government to comical extremes.
02:26Well, always leave him laughing.
02:28Cargill is voiced by Albert Brooks, who Simpsons fans know as the voice of another memorably
02:33funny Simpsons villain, Hank Scorpio.
02:35Hammocks?
02:36My goodness, what an idea.
02:38Why didn't I think of that?
02:40Hammocks!
02:41Coincidentally, they originally planned to reuse Scorpio for the movie, and you can certainly
02:45hear shades of the benevolent supervillain in some of Cargill's most quotable lines.
02:49You ever try going mad without power?
02:51It's boring.
02:52No one listens to you.
02:54Jean Girard, Talladega Nights, The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
02:57Why did you stop the jazz music?
03:01Was it not pleasant for you?
03:03In the spirit of unforgettable goofball comedies that came before it, The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
03:08gave us one of film's most memorable villains, and Sacha Baron Cohen put his all into the
03:14portrayal.
03:15As a European F1 racer, Jean Girard represented the antithesis of Ricky Bobby, who was a Southern
03:20American NASCAR driver.
03:22Soon you will know what it is like to be defeated by the hands of somebody who is truly better
03:28than you.
03:29Nonetheless, his talent proved to be a toe-to-toe and tire-to-tire match.
03:33He was an adversary that forced Ricky to rise to his potential, and he was so funny in doing
03:39so.
03:40In the end, though, it was immeasurably satisfying to see the two rivals form an admirable respect
03:44for each other, figuratively and physically.
03:47But the movie never would have been nearly as great of a comedic achievement without
03:51Jean Girard.
03:52C'est fini.
03:53Au revoir, Ricky.
03:54Au revoir.
03:55Number 26.
03:56Lord Business, The Lego Movie
03:57Oh, wow!
03:58That was a great, inspiring legend that you made up!
03:59Lord Business is the villainous counterpart to President Business, and from sitcoms to
04:00voting machines, Business keeps tight control over Lego citizens without their knowledge
04:01as the charismatic president of Octan.
04:02Would you cancel my two-a-thousand-dollar bill?
04:03No, sir.
04:04No, sir!
04:05No, sir!
04:06No, sir!
04:07No, sir!
04:08No, sir!
04:09No, sir!
04:10No, sir!
04:11No, sir!
04:12No, sir!
04:13No, sir!
04:14No, sir!
04:15No, sir!
04:16No, sir!
04:17No, sir!
04:18No, sir!
04:19No, sir!
04:21No, sir!
04:22No, sir!
04:23No, sir!
04:24No, sir!
04:25No, sir!
04:26No, sir!
04:27But as soon as he puts on his hilariously oversized crowd and stilted shoes, he transforms
04:30into the mean and ruthless Lord.
04:32He also mistakes objects from our world as mystical items, avoiding some amusing renaming
04:37of household products.
04:39Nobody knows where this stuff comes from!
04:41This one is the Cloak of Bandied.
04:43Voiced by Will Ferrell, Business is a caricature of a cold-hearted business man through the
04:48eyes of a child.
04:50The movie also paved the way for Lego's funny take on another comic book villain,
04:54the Joker, in the Lego Batman movie.
04:57Do you realize that you have never once said the words, I hate you, Joker?
05:04Number 25, Randall Boggs, Monsters, Inc.
05:08What do you know?
05:09It scares little kids and little monsters.
05:12Considered by fans to be one of Pixar's most memorable villains, Randall Boggs is
05:16a slimy and conniving scarer.
05:19I wasn't scared, I have allergies.
05:22His intense rivalry with top scaring team Mike and Sully at Monsters, Inc. pushes him
05:26to stop at nothing to be the best.
05:29Sullivan was twice the scarer you will ever be.
05:33A lot of his humor comes from his physicality.
05:35As a long chameleon-like creature with big googly eyes and a crooked grin, Boggs' scuttling
05:41movement and hunched standing pose make you laugh even before he opens his mouth.
05:46This skin's ability to replicate its surroundings creates visual jokes too, often cartoonishly
05:51changing as an involuntary response to his feelings, like a blush from embarrassment.
05:56Looks like you're out of a job.
05:59Number 24, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
06:12Next up on our list is the title character from Tim Burton's morbid classic, the one-of-a-kind
06:17freelance demon bio-exorcist.
06:19Played with panache by Michael Keaton, this striped-wearing creepshow forces its way into
06:24the afterlives of Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin, who only want to claim their house back from
06:29the living.
06:38As a troublemaking pervert, he quickly becomes a major pain in the neck, and that's despite
06:43the impressive resume.
07:00He manages to come back for more trouble in the 2024 sequel.
07:07Number 23, Captain Hook, Peter Pan.
07:14One of Disney's most recognizable and cruelest villains, Captain J. Hook is as fun to laugh
07:19at as he is to fear.
07:20Though he's presented as a fearsome and murderous pirate consumed by his hatred for Peter Pan,
07:26Disney also deliberately softened his dark edges with more humorous qualities that make
07:31him surprisingly endearing.
07:37Hook's obsessive vanity gives him an air of pomp and campiness that's easy for his
07:41enemies to mock.
07:43His temper tantrums are constant fuel for slapstick gags, and his crippling fear of
07:47the tick-tocking crocodile with a taste for his flesh leads to some hilarious chase scenes.
07:59Number 22, The League of Evil Exes, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
08:03We've all had the awkward ex conversation with our significant other, but this is on
08:12a whole different level.
08:18What is it about Ramona Flowers that has not one, not two, but seven jealous supervillains
08:24bent on destroying any chance she has of future happiness?
08:33In this film, Scott Pilgrim, who has a few magical tricks up his own sleeve, has to
08:38prove not only his love for Ramona, but also his own self-worth by besting kooky ex-lovers
08:44that range from the mystical to the action hero to the telekinetic vegan to twins and
08:50more.
08:54Fortunately for Scott, they all have their own weaknesses.
09:10Number 21, Buddy Pine, Syndrome, The Incredibles.
09:22Syndrome is a classic example of a hero gone bad.
09:25After he's brushed aside by his idol, Mr. Incredible, when he attempts to become the
09:29Robin to his Batman-ass Incrediboy, Buddy Pine embarks on a vengeance-fueled mission
09:35to make all superheroes obsolete.
09:39Syndrome's humor is thanks to the over-the-top comedic stylings of Jason Lee, who plays up
09:44the stereotype of an obsessive fanboy with way too many toys to play with.
09:50The Incredibles is Pixar's homage to the superhero genre, and Syndrome is a suitably
09:56hilarious take on seethingly jealous supervillains who just love the sound of their own voices
10:01too much.
10:06Number 20, Derek Hough, Step Brothers.
10:19Yet another villain in a Will Ferrell flick, Derek is Brennan Hough's utterly detestable
10:24younger brother who not only inherited the good looks and the smarts in the family, but
10:29is also wildly successful and driven and basically everything Will Ferrell's character is not.
10:43What makes him even more annoying is that he loves to rub it in his brother's face.
10:56Played by Adam Scott, who's known for his corporate douche roles, Derek represents the
11:00unfairness and randomness of genetics, and the sad reality that you can pick your friends,
11:06but you can't pick your family.
11:10Number 19, Wes Mantle, Anchorman, The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
11:18Ron Burgundy's arch nemesis is a little like Vince Vaughn himself.
11:22We can't stand him, but we know he's necessary.
11:27We're just kidding.
11:28In this film, Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 evening news team can't shake the one-upmanship
11:33of Channel 9's Wes Mantle and his band of cronies, as they're always trying to make
11:38the guys miserable.
11:45The rivalry between Burgundy and Mantle runs deep, and their animosity reaches its peak
11:51in the epic Newsman Street fight.
11:59But by the end, Wes proves himself to be at least a decent human being, as long as you
12:05leave the mothers out of this.
12:12Number 18, Saddam Hussein, South Park, Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.
12:20After kidnapping Celine Dion and nearly conquering Canada in the South Park TV show, the former
12:25Iraqi president is killed and winds up a permanent resident of hell.
12:30This is far from the end of Saddam's story, though.
12:32In the South Park movie, we discover that Saddam and Satan are ruling hell as an evil
12:37power couple.
12:39Saddam is unexpectedly and hilariously even more wicked and domineering than the devil
12:44himself, as he attempts to manipulate Satan into using his powers to take over Earth.
12:49Matt Stone's high-pitched, whiny voice for Saddam also defies what you'd expect, making
12:54him all the more hysterical no matter what he's saying.
13:01Number 17, Sack Lodge, Wedding Crashers.
13:10It's what's on the inside that counts, okay Bradley Cooper?
13:13In this film, the usually likable Heidi reveals how ugly he can be by playing the aggressive,
13:19all-American jock who's only using his sweet girlfriend to cozy up to her powerful dad.
13:27There's no way a guy who is that much of a lying cheater could possibly deserve someone
13:32like Rachel McAdams, but what makes us curl our fists is that he's not even with her
13:36for the right reasons.
13:38However, the stereotypical grown-up frat boy in his over-the-top antics managed to make
13:42an idiot out of him while competing for Claire's love, and that's what makes us laugh the
13:48And the oil's flapping, he's...
13:51Arf, arf, arf.
13:52Give me the eye drops.
13:54Number 16, Lord Farquaad, Shrek.
14:00Lord Farquaad is DreamWorks' witty, gender-swapped take on Snow White's evil queen, right down
14:06to the magic mirror in his castle.
14:08Mirror, mirror on the wall, is this not the most perfect kingdom of them all?
14:13Farquaad's diminutive stature is a constant source of humor throughout the film, including
14:18the perspective trick used when we first meet him, as well as Shrek's comment that the
14:22excessive height of his tower might be to, um, compensate for something.
14:28Do you think maybe he's compensating for something?
14:31His pursuit of perfection in Duloc and his desire to become king push him to levels of
14:36manic absurdity, helped by brilliant voice acting from comedy legend John Lithgow.
14:41The ogre has fallen in love with the princess.
14:45And as if that weren't enough, his name is secretly an explicit insult if you say
14:50it fast enough.
14:51I've tried to be fair.
14:53Number 15, Victor Vector Perkins, Despicable Me.
14:58I'm applying for a new villain loan.
15:00Go by the name of Vector.
15:02In a movie franchise built around the comedic side of villainy, you need an antagonist that
15:06can really make him laugh.
15:08Thankfully, Despicable Me's Vector really delivers.
15:12As the son of the owner of the Bank of Evil, Vector fits into the spoiled, bored, rich
15:16kid archetype perfectly, becoming a thorn in the side of the hardworking and empathetic
15:21group right from their very first encounter.
15:28He's flashy and annoyingly talkative, but as irritating as Vector is, he's also a fantastic
15:34slapstick character.
15:36It's hard not to crack up whenever he fires his trademark squid launcher or uses his butt
15:40instead of his fingers on his keyboard.
15:45Number 14, Vizzini, The Princess Bride.
15:48Let me put it this way.
15:49Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?
15:53Yes.
15:54Morons.
15:55Anyone who's familiar with Wallace Shawn's work would, understandably, find it inconceivable
16:00to take this five-foot-two comedian seriously as a villain, since his claim to fame is that
16:06manner of speaking of his.
16:14But that, in a way, makes him the perfect casting choice to play the arrogant, Napoleonic
16:20thief bent on kidnapping Princess Buttercup for a handsome reward.
16:28His hubris leads to his downfall, however, when he thinks he can outsmart the incomparable,
16:33dread Pirate Roberts.
16:35Vizzini is a villain who crawls under our skin, but makes us laugh the whole time.
16:49Number 13, Kim Jong-Il, Team America, World Police.
16:59This puppet put a gut-busting spin on the real-life North Korean tyrant.
17:04Voiced by Trey Parker, Kim Jong-Il is ruthless, foul-mouthed, and size-splittingly hilarious
17:10with every motion in line.
17:12He doesn't just stop at maniacal monologues.
17:14This villain takes things to the next level by keeping deadly Black Panthers as pets,
17:19and giving the UN weapons inspector a fatal dip in his pool.
17:25The hilarity hits its peak when he breaks into song, revealing a surprisingly soft side.
17:40A puppet with a plan, Kim Jong-Il makes us laugh while taking villainy to absurd, unforgettable
17:46heights.
17:47Number 12, Prince John and the Sheriff of Rottingham, Robin Hood, Men in Tights.
17:52In this classic Melbrook spoof, Robin Hood takes a backseat to the tyrannical, yet hilariously
18:09inept duel ruling England with anything but an iron fist.
18:25Prince John, power-hungry and immature, is unforgettable with his ever-shifting mole
18:30and fineness for bubble baths.
18:41Meanwhile the bumbling Sheriff of Rottingham is ridiculously incompetent, complete with
18:47backwards nervous talk.
18:55The pair delivers endless laughs thanks to their absurdity, swagger and exaggerated villainy.
19:01Number 11, Harry and Marv, Home Alone.
19:07The Wet Bandits are the ultimate slapstick duel of dim-witted robbers.
19:18Their plan?
19:19Rob a house guarded by a lone 8-year-old.
19:21The catch?
19:22This 8-year-old is prepared.
19:24The duo experience every painful, bone-crushing booby trap imaginable, but somehow they keep
19:30coming back for more.
19:39While it may not be funny for them, it is hilarious for us to watch.
19:43Despite their best efforts to outsmart a kid, every step they take only leads to more chaos,
19:49leaving us wondering how they survive it all.
19:52Their unrelenting punishment is comedy gold.
20:01Number 10, Jacobean Mugatu, Zoolander.
20:06Oh, Will Ferrell, what will you come up with next?
20:12Flamboyant fashion mogul Jacobean Mugatu brainwashes model Derek Zoolander, scheming to have him
20:18assassinate the Malaysian Prime Minister and thus retain cheap child labor.
20:28Mugatu's tantrums are his crowning moments, each one delivering peak Will Ferrell insanity
20:33in the best way possible.
20:35With his ridiculous outfits and over-the-top personality, Mugatu is as unforgettable as
20:40he is unhinged, making every scene he's in wildly entertaining.
20:53Number 9, Shooter McGavin, Happy Gilmore.
21:06The most celebrated golfer on the PGA Tour, Shooter McGavin is the main antagonist standing
21:11in the way of Adam Sandler's titular Happy getting his grandmother's house back.
21:20Though undeniably skilled, he is also one of cinema's most arrogant jackasses, relishing
21:25in taking the low role to try to get Happy disqualified.
21:28Arrogant, conniving, and somehow always hilarious, Shooter is that classic love-to-hate-em character,
21:35and honestly, could a 90's comedy even be complete without him as the bad guy?
21:51Number 8, Dark Helmet, Spaceballs.
22:00This baddie, as you probably can tell, is based on a certain Sith Lord.
22:05However, underneath that massive helmet lurks Rick Moranis, a real ball-buster thanks to
22:10the power of the Schwartz.
22:11He's a short and short-tempered megalomaniac out to steal a planet's air supply.
22:30He does this while playing with his dolls, cranking things up to ludicrous speed, and
22:35harboring a strange connection to the hero.
22:37Like many of us, he hates it when he gets his Schwartz twisted.
22:49Number 7, Ernie McCracken, Kingpin.
22:56This pro bowler isn't just a jerk, he's the ultimate hustler, leaving Woody Harrelson's
23:01character Roy Munson minus a hand and minus his dignity.
23:12With his absurd comb-over and dead-serious concentration phase, Bill Murray's Ernie
23:17McCracken revels in his role as the King of Cruelty, going out of his way to torment and
23:22humiliate his rival at every possible turn.
23:25His ruthless antics, shameless swagger, and gleeful malice cement him as one of the most
23:30hilariously despicable villains in comedy history.
23:43Number 6, Hades, Hercules.
23:49Considered to be one of the most popular and beloved Disney villains, Hades is a unique
23:53and highly comical take on the Greek god of the underworld.
23:59The casting of James Woods was instrumental to Hades' humor, as prior to that, he was
24:04originally written as a darker and more serious bad guy, similar to The Little Mermaid's
24:08Ursula.
24:12In fact, Woods' inspired characterization of the hot-tempered deity as a fast-talking
24:17salesman-like character, cloaking his dark aspirations in sarcasm and misdirection, draws
24:22most of the laughter throughout the film.
24:24So much so that you almost wish things would go his way in the end.
24:34Number 5, Fat Bastard, Austin Powers franchise.
24:42Few villains make an entrance like Fat Bastard.
24:45While we almost went with the roller-skating and skin-peeling villain Goldmember, Fat Bastard
24:50makes us laugh even harder.
24:58This sumo-wrestling Scottish-accented brute takes gross-out humor to new heights.
25:04He's much more than just a physical threat, he's an assault on all the senses.
25:12With his unapologetic lack of manners, he's as revolting as he is relentless.
25:17Despite his crude humor and appetite for anything or anyone in his way, Mike Myers' over-the-top
25:22performance and thick accent bring an odd charm to the character.
25:26You might cringe, but you can't help but laugh too.
25:37Number 4, White Goodman, Dodgeball, A True Underdog Story.
25:47A fitness fanatic with a petty streak a mile wide, Ben Stiller's White Goodman is the
25:52owner of Global Gym, determined to crush all competition, including the underdog Average
25:58Joe's Gym.
25:59Small-minded and insecure, this beady-eyed one-liner machine will stop at nothing to
26:04win a dodgeball tournament and prove his dominance.
26:12But for all his intense fitness obsession, Goodman harbors a hilarious secret passion
26:16for junk food, practicing a brutal kind of aversion therapy to contain it.
26:21Arrogant and vain, he's the kind of villain we love to hate and laugh at.
26:34Number 3, Bill Lumberg, Office Space.
26:39This division VP at Inateck is just the kind of superior we'd hate to work for.
26:45But the reason this corporate stooge makes us both clench our teeth and laugh out loud
26:49is that, in the real world, there are a million Bill Lumbergs passive-aggressively asking
26:54us to work weekends and to fill out meaningless reports.
27:08We don't know if we should laugh or cry at the fact that we can actually relate to
27:11these characters who've had enough of being overworked and underappreciated.
27:26Bill Lumberg, on behalf of every 9-to-5-er who's ever had to deal with your kind of
27:31micromanaging and political correctness, if you could go ahead and F right off, that'd
27:36be great.
27:43Number 2, Yzma, The Emperor's New Groove.
27:50Everything about Yzma screams classic Disney villain, from her head-to-toe black-and-purple
27:55aesthetic to her Cruella de Vil-inspired design.
27:58She's also a send-up of other iconic Disney villainesses like Ursula and the Evil Queen
28:03from Snow White, who yearn to be young and beautiful again.
28:10But unlike them, Yzma's vanity and old age are played for laughs rather than scares,
28:15with Emperor Kuzco zooming in on all her worst features in his inner monologue when firing
28:19her as his power-hungry advisor.
28:27Yzma is voiced by Eartha Kitt, whose sultry gravitas and scenery-chewing completely sell
28:33the character.
28:34Alongside her pretty but dumb henchman Kronk, Yzma is as side-splittingly funny as she is
28:40malicious.

29:16Was there ever any doubt?
29:18Taking the top spot is Dr. Evil, Mike Myers' iconic parody of Bond villain Blofeld.
29:23This pasty mastermind loves his cat Mr. Bigglesworth, but has zero understanding of monetary inflation,
29:29hilariously demanding one million dollars, as though it's still a fortune.
29:41Dr. Evil's eccentricities don't stop there.
29:44He's got a flair for dismissing employees in ridiculous ways, an inexplicably loyal
29:49clone named Mini-Me, and a fondness for sharks with laser beams.
29:53Add to that the wildest origin story we've ever heard.
30:09What villain cracks you up the most?
30:11Tell us in the comments down below.
30:41And as always, thanks for watching.
