00:00I would like to welcome Dr Azizah Gatun.
00:06This year, the theme of Children's Welcoming Day is
00:10Listen to Our Voices.
00:12Listen to our voices.
00:13This theme emphasizes the importance of listening to the voices of children
00:18because they are the heirs of the future of this country.
00:22And the decision we make today will shape the world that they will inherit tomorrow.
00:29This theme is also in line with the theme of Listen to the Future
00:34which reminds us to bring the vision and hope of children
00:39to be taken into account in the basic planning, education and development of the country.
00:46Since Malaysia ratified the Convention on the Rights of Children or CRC in 1995,
00:55various initiatives have been implemented to protect the rights and well-being of children.
01:02This includes the implementation of the Children's Act 2001
01:07which continues to be improved to provide more comprehensive protection.
01:13Even so, we cannot be indifferent.
01:17Statistics show that there are still many cases of abortion,
01:21neglect and exploitation of children reported.
01:26This is where the role of the community is very important.
01:30Each of us must be the eyes and ears to help report these cases
01:37and ensure that the children around us are always safe.
01:43To parents, educators and community leaders,
01:47let us play an important role in shaping a young generation that is moral, competitive and kind.
01:57Our children learn from us.
02:01The way we act and what we fight for is a guide to them.
02:08To the private sector, continue your support through the CSR program,
02:14especially in helping the children in need.
02:18And to my beloved children, don't be afraid to dream big.
02:24This world is yours and we will continue to work hard
02:29to ensure that you can achieve your full potential.
