00:00Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was booed Sunday at a vigil for the fatal shooting
00:04of three black people inside a Florida store in a racially motivated attack.
00:13DeSantis, who is hoping to secure the Republican presidential nomination, has loosened gun laws
00:18in the state and has been widely criticized by civil rights groups for his attacks on woke
00:22ideology. After the booing quieted, he went on to offer his condolences and condemn the killings,
00:27which took place at a Dollar General store in a predominantly black neighborhood on Saturday.
00:32The masked shooter, a 21-year-old white man, was carrying at least one weapon bearing a swastika
00:37in an attack with a clear motive of racial hatred, officials said. The shooter, who killed himself at
00:42the scene, left behind a suicide note, a will, and writings with racist material.
00:47The Clay County Sheriff's Office, who has been assisting our agency with this investigation,
00:51received information after the shooting that the shooter had authored several manifestos,
00:56one to his parents, one to the media, and one to federal agents. Portions of these manifestos
01:03detail the shooter's disgusting ideology of hate. Plainly put, this shooting was racially motivated
01:11and he hated black people.
