Two of the four Americans kidnapped in Mexico have been killed, according to Mexican officials. They had traveled to Mexico because one was looking to get a cosmetic medical procedure.

00:06On March 5th, the FBI announced that four Americans who traveled to Mexico were shot at and kidnapped by unidentified gunmen shortly after they crossed the border.
00:15Two of the victims were later found dead, according to Mexican officials.
00:18Multiple reports indicate the other two, one of whom is injured, are back in the U.S. under the FBI's care.
00:24An innocent bystander, who officials say was a Mexican citizen, was also killed.
00:28The four American friends were traveling from South Carolina to Mexico, where one was reportedly looking to get a cosmetic medical procedure.
00:35Authorities are still investigating, but CNN reported that the travelers may have been mistaken for Haitian drug smugglers by a Mexican cartel in the area.
00:43It is expected that the bodies of the two deceased victims will be returned to the U.S. after Mexican authorities conduct their own autopsies.
00:50Prior to the kidnapping, the U.S. State Department issued a do-not-travel advisory for Taumalipas, warning travelers of crime and kidnapping.
