00:00I wasn't permitted to have an abortion.
00:02I nearly died on their watch.
00:04We've heard a lot today about the mental trauma and the negative harmful effects on a person's
00:13psychological well-being after they have an abortion, supposedly.
00:18And I'm curious why that's not relevant for me as well, because I wasn't permitted to
00:25have an abortion.
00:26And the trauma and the PTSD and the depression that I have dealt with in the eight months
00:34since this happened to me is paralyzing.
00:37I wanted to address my senators Cruz and Cornyn.
00:40What happened to me, I think most people in this room would agree, was horrific.
00:45But it's a direct result of the policies that they support.
00:49I nearly died on their watch.
00:53And furthermore, as a result of what happened to me, I may have been robbed of the opportunity
00:58to have children in the future.
01:00What happened to me was horrible, but I am one of many.
01:04And quite frankly, I'm lucky.
01:06I'm lucky that I have a husband that could take me to the hospital.
01:10I don't have other children that I had to worry about finding healthcare for.
01:14I have a job that was understanding that allowed me to grieve for three days as I waited to
01:19almost die.
01:21What about all of the women that don't have those same opportunities, that don't have
01:25access to healthcare, that don't have health insurance, that don't have a partner?
01:29What about them?
