70 top TikTok creators are refusing to work with Amazon until the company meets the demands of the Amazon Labor Union.

00:00Now, this is what they mean by the power of TikTok. The Amazon Labor Union has been advocating
00:05for better working conditions, but we need to talk about the group of Gen Z content creators
00:09who just joined the fight to get those demands met. People Over Prime is a campaign backed
00:13by 70 TikTok creators that calls for Amazon to meet the requests of its employees. The
00:18demands set by the Amazon Labor Union include a $30 minimum wage, increased paid time off,
00:24and halting all union busting activities. Until these changes are made, the group pledges
00:28to shut down their Amazon storefronts and halt all new partnerships with the company.
00:32With a combined following of over 51 million, the coalition recognizes the power they and
00:37the TikTok app holds over Amazon. In 2017, the company launched the Amazon Influencer
00:42Program, which allows creators to earn revenue in exchange for recommending Amazon products.
00:46They've also flown out TikTok creators on brand trips and sponsored social media conferences
00:51such as VidCon. The group that organized the campaign, known as Gen Z for Change, has aided
00:56other union organizing campaigns, including ones at Starbucks and Kroger.
