00:00As the sketchy financial transactions and suspicious personal relationships of Supreme
00:04Court justices continue to surface, Congress is starting to question the legitimacy of the
00:09country's highest court. So what was the latest revelation and is anything expected to change?
00:14Brute can explain in less than 60 seconds. According to a whistleblower, Chief Justice
00:18John Roberts' wife, Jane Roberts, has pocketed over $10 million from elite law firms that she
00:25worked with during her career as a recruiter. And some of those firms eventually found
00:29themselves arguing cases before the Supreme Court. This allegation has reignited calls for tighter
00:34ethical guidelines for Supreme Court justices. Currently, members of the Supreme Court do not
00:39follow the ethics code that guides every other federal court member. But a few lawmakers have
00:44introduced bills that would force SCOTUS to adopt and establish its own set of ethical codes and put
00:49into place a body or committee that would enforce its regulations. These bills, however, are not
00:54expected to pass in a split Congress.
