00:00GOP rep Marjorie Taylor Greene was the victim of swatting two days in a row.
00:04So what is swatting and how does it turn dangerous?
00:07Brute can explain in less than 60 seconds.
00:09Swatting is when someone makes a false 9-1-1 call
00:12in hopes of sending armed law enforcement to a specific address.
00:15And in the past, the extreme prank calls have led to fatal consequences.
00:20For example, in 2017, a Wichita man died
00:23after police were summoned to his home because of a swatting call.
00:26When he opened his front door to see why police were outside of his home,
00:29he was fatally shot.
00:30More recently, officers were called to Greene's Georgia home
00:33in the early morning hours of August 24th and 25th by unidentified suspects.
00:39Both local law enforcement and Capitol Police are investigating the calls.
00:43Some reports claim that they come from people
00:45upset with the lawmakers' views on transgender youth rights.
00:48Just last week, Greene introduced a bill to Congress
00:51that would make it a felony to provide gender-affirming medical care
00:54to transgender minors.
