00:06The comedian-turned-filmmaker made his directorial debut in 2017 with Get Out.

00:15His 2019 follow-up, Us, was equally polarizing, candidly speaking about the American dream

00:20But Nope is different.
00:21Drawing from his roots, the film relies on both horror and comedy.
00:25Peele says the genres are not entirely different as they are both devised to elicit specific
00:29Rather than trauma, Nope uniquely centers on black joy.

00:39Within the horror genre, Peele is considered a pioneer for shifting how black actors are
