00:00Want to be verified on Twitter? According to Elon Musk, anyone will be able to get the coveted
00:04blue tick for $8 a month. Twitter's new owner and CEO outlined his vision for a revamped Twitter
00:09Blue subscription service. It would include a verified badge, priority and replies, mentions
00:13and search, the ability to post longer video and audio clips, and fewer ads. Twitter is also
00:18reportedly working on a paid video feature which could include adult content. With the ability to
00:22post videos and charge users to view them, this would put Twitter in competition with platforms
00:26like Patreon and OnlyFans. Earlier this year, Twitter abandoned plans to build an OnlyFans
00:31competitor due to concerns of not being able to adequately monitor child sexual abuse material.
00:36Musk also confirmed that Twitter will not reinstate banned accounts until the company
00:39sets up a content moderation council, which he expects will take weeks. This means several banned
00:44right-wing figures, including former President Donald Trump, will not be able to return to the
00:48platform before the midterm elections. Throughout all of these changes, some Twitter staff have
00:51reportedly worked 12-hour shifts seven days a week to prove themselves amid a looming threat
00:56of layoffs.
