00:04I give my interest to my career in UP.
00:10I reached Manali and I saw that all those who came there were small children.
00:16They were NCC students, college students, engineering students.
00:20And I didn't tell anyone that I am an IPS officer.
00:24Because it would have been embarrassing if I couldn't complete the course.
00:29It would have been embarrassing if I couldn't complete the course.
00:52I was selected in IPS in 2002.
00:56After that, I got a card from Uttar Pradesh.
01:00Uttar Pradesh is a state where being a police officer
01:05and being a female police officer is a very challenging thing.
01:10And in mountaineering, which is the most challenging and risky sport,
01:15I give my interest to my career in UP.
01:21I have been in UP for 12 years.
01:26And my journey till 2014
01:29and the work I have done in every district of UP
01:34is a gift to me.
01:37I have got the passion to climb the highest mountains in the world
01:42and to take risks.
01:47I got this motivation from my work in UP.
01:52I give credit to UP for this.
01:57Yes, training is very important.
02:00In October 2013, I did a basic mountaineering course
02:05at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports in Manali.
02:12If you get an A grade in the basic course,
02:16you become eligible for the advanced mountaineering course.
02:20So, in June 2014, I did the advanced mountaineering course.
02:24After that, my journey of climbing and mountaineering started.
02:29I reached Manali.
02:31And I saw that all those who came there were small children.
02:35They were NCC students, college students, engineering students.
02:40And I was one of the oldest candidate students there.
02:45And I did not tell anyone that I was an IPS officer.
02:49Because it would have been embarrassing
02:52if I could not complete the course.
02:55It would have been very embarrassing
02:58if I could not complete the course as an IPS officer.
03:01So, it was very difficult.
03:04Because there were about 120-125 people in the basic mountaineering course.
03:10And gradually, I was seeing that every week for 10 days,
03:15about 20-30 people could not do it.
03:18Some got injured and were going back.
03:21I was also counting my days that when will my turn come.
03:24I had never seen snow.
03:26I had never done ice climbing.
03:28And those equipment, ice axe, carabiners, pittons,
03:32I had never heard of all this.
03:34So, there was a lot of curiosity.
03:36And they used to wake us up at 5.45 in the morning.
03:39And they did not let us go outside.
03:42We did not get permission.
03:44And I had become a senior SSP by then.
03:47So, these things, in our job,
03:51we command.
03:53Going there, I had to listen to everything.
03:56And in the mess there,
03:59like other people,
04:01I had to stand in line with a plate.
04:04Everything was normal.
04:06I remembered my student life again.
04:09And I would especially like to say to girls and women,
04:13that we should do something challenging.
04:17So that we can be an inspiration to other girls and women.
04:22So that they can also believe that this life is so beautiful.
04:28And how beautiful we can make it.
