00:00The fact that I'm able to stand here today in front of all of you,
00:04people I have idolized for so long,
00:08that opportunity to me has been incredible,
00:12and that to me is the India story.
00:30Picture a 17-year-old boy,
00:44a school dropout in Bangalore from 20 years ago,
00:49not particularly smart,
00:52not too educated,
00:53and no capital at hand.
00:56Bangalore from 20 years ago was a lot quieter, greener,
01:01without the vibrance that one might associate with Bangalore today.
01:06The fact that I'm able to stand here today in front of all of you,
01:11people I have idolized for so long,
01:14that opportunity to me has been incredible,
01:18and that to me is the India story.
01:22I often hear people talking about what India could be 10 years from now,
01:28what needs to change,
01:31or the fact that we will arrive in 10 years, in 5 years,
01:36or a certain period of time from today.
01:38I think we are standing too close to the trees and not seeing the forest,
01:44because the India I am in today,
01:46that is the India that to me has already arrived.
01:51The opportunities the country threw to a 17-year-old boy,
01:56again with no education, no capital, or exceptionally smart,
02:01this, in my view, has not happened forever.
02:05The last 10 years have been incredible,
02:09and I'm not the only exception here in India.
02:12There are many other exceptions like me.
02:15We all hang out.
02:17We call this the startup ecosystem of India.
02:20Today, when I talk to Indians in the West who have done very well,
02:25the only thing I hear from them, it's a very young word.
02:28I call it FOMO, the fear of missing out.
02:31They're talking about India as a story that they fear missing out today.
02:36That change which has happened in the last 10 years
02:42is so evident to see that it makes me feel proud.
02:46It makes me feel like I'm in the right place at the right time,
02:50and that place today is India.
02:52The way I'm looking at this today is we're all potential partners
02:56in a story that could change the global economic landscape today,
03:00and that story is India.
03:02And to all the foreign investors here,
03:06India is seemingly looking like the coolest party in town.
03:10I think what you need to be aware of is
03:12if you arrive too late, you might not get in.
