00:00In the event that the doctors report for duty within a period of an hour before 5 p.m. tomorrow,
00:07no adverse action, no adverse disciplinary action shall be adopted by the state of West Bengal.
00:17Twenty-three people have died, Mullahs, because they don't come to works.
00:22Para seven further, the resident doctors of different medical colleges and hospitals
00:25across the state have been abstaining from duty for the last twenty-eight days.
00:29The health care system is facing severe disruptions and can come to a standstill
00:33as resident doctors are the backbone of the health care in government medical colleges
00:36and hospitals. Due to continued cease work, public at large is suffering.
00:41Can't be, Mullahs, that people die, they don't go to hospitals. And, Mullahs,
00:46if it's a cancer treatment, we are sending them to pilot hospitals and they are dying there
00:51because they can't get this treatment. The state of West Bengal must take
00:57necessary steps to create a degree of confidence, to create confidence in the minds of the
01:06doctors that their concerns in regard to security and safety are being duly attended to. In order
01:14to ensure this, all the respective district collectors and superintendents of police
01:24shall take stock of the situation and ensure that necessary conditions
01:31have been created for ensuring the safety and security of all doctors
01:39in the government medical colleges and public hospitals, including
01:44the provision of separate duty rooms for male and female personnel, semicolon,
01:54bracket two, availability of toilet facilities for male and female personnel, semicolon,
02:05and bracket three, the installation of CCTV cameras. We also direct that in the event that
02:12the doctors report for duty within a period of an hour before 5 p.m. tomorrow, comma,
02:19no adverse action, no adverse disciplinary action shall be adopted by the state of West Bengal.
02:27However, comma, if there is a continued abstention from work despite the above facilities,
02:33which have been directed to be put into place, comma, there may be a likelihood of adverse
02:42actions being adopted in the future, which may best be obviated by the return to work.
02:50The resident doctors must be aware of, cannot be oblivious to the needs of the general community
02:57whom they are intended to serve and reciprocate by returning back to work.
03:04We are not here to either lend a ear to the politicization of the matter or other. All that
03:10we want to, one second, we want to ensure that due security and safety is provided to the doctors.
03:18But equally, the young doctors must now return to work and attend to their patients.
