00:00Following a publicly-issued death threat made by the vice president against the leader of the land, the first lady and the house speaker,

00:07the Presidential Security Command has doubled its security detail on the chief executive.

00:13Authorities, most especially the close-in security of the president, are duty-bound to take any threat issued against a top official,

00:20especially one that is life-threatening, as serious and should be dealt with accordingly.

00:28The Presidential Security Command has doubled security arrangements and close-in detail for President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:37This move follows Vice President Sara Luterte's statements against President Marcos, Jr.,

00:43First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez in a midnight rant over the weekend.

00:50Major Nestor Endozo, the PSC's Civil-Military Operations Officer, did not disclose specific details about the total PSG forces deployed

01:00to protect the president and other members of the first family following the threat.

01:05The PSC is now on red alert status with stricter security measures enforced in Malacanang Palace.

01:12We need to double the security of the president, especially for his upcoming activities.

01:19We need to check the security.

01:26As for the personnel, we cannot say how much we will revise the security,

01:34but the coordination and deployment will increase.

01:39Meanwhile, security at the House of Representatives has also doubled and tightened.

01:44According to House Secretary General Reginald Velasco, the Philippine National Police is now assisting in ensuring the safety around the Batasan Complex.

01:53Although they have not declared a red alert status, heightened precautionary measures are being implemented.

01:59Well, the PNP is the one augmenting us because we cannot hire additional.

02:08So, if there are additional security requirements, we always ask the PNP to beef up our security.
