00:00A charge of care for almost 70% of Italian workers.
00:09Among them, 36% has the responsibility of minors, 46% indicates to take care of elderly or fragile relatives,
00:17and 30% takes care of minors of the family, such as grandchildren.
00:23These are some of the main results emerged from the first investigation of the National Observatory
00:27on the needs of welfare of workers with care responsibilities,
00:31in partnership with the sociologist Elena Macchioni
00:36and with the contribution of the Institute of Research XE,
00:39presented in the course of a talk by ADN Kronos.
00:42The Observatory was born on the initiative of Welfare like you,
00:46and it wants to be a permanent institution that observes the evolution of the needs of this particular category of workers,
00:54which interests us because it seems to us the point where some of the most significant elements of the demographic crisis of our country are concentrated,
01:04because they are those people who will and always have a lot of difficulty in conciliating the needs of care of their relatives with the work obligations,
01:16in a context in which we have been able to address, they struggle to find support outside the family network.
01:24Our goal is therefore to sensitize companies, but also political decision-makers,
01:30in order to intervene or to be proactive with respect to the problems that these workers face.
01:38Welfare like you, provider of corporate welfare and expression of social cooperation,
01:43assists many companies in the design of initiatives and services dedicated to caregivers and personal well-being.
01:49The goal is to bring the values and the quality of services that social cooperation offers for 40-50 years,
01:57in accreditation with the public welfare system, within companies.
02:01This is because we believe that corporate welfare, today mainly based on the so-called model of flexible benefits,
02:08is not enough to meet the emerging needs, in particular the needs of caregivers.
02:14We therefore offer companies projects, initiatives and measures that go from parenting to becoming parents of their own parents or personal weaknesses.
