00:00You can also be a woman.
00:14Growing up, I was always afraid of approaching people or talking to them or being the first
00:26one to start the conversation.
00:27And there were two girls, I still remember their names, when I was in 1st grade, they
00:32were like, nobody is going to talk to Prithvi.
00:34From 1st to 5th, nobody was actually, you know, in my class.
00:37They never used to talk to me because those girls were popular in class.
00:41So that, you know, that just broke my confidence as a kid.
00:46And I was not very bright as a student in studies.
00:49So that also.
00:52And then I had to repeat 1 year in 6th standard because I failed in Maths.
00:57My Maths was still very horrible.
00:59I still get dreams about, you know, appearing for a Maths exam.
01:15So he started off by playing Sita, then he played Ram for like good 5-6 years.
01:20Then he played Ravan after that.
01:22Then he played this character called Vashu Ram.
01:25And now he finally plays Dashrath.
01:27Those things used to like excite us as kids.
01:30And I used to also tell my father that even I want to go and do something.
01:34So he asked me, he's like, I can let you play Sita's, you know, friends.
01:39Or then when Sita is kidnapped, there are two Rakshasis who are there with her at the
01:45Ravan's Darbar.
01:46So me and my cousin used to just sit there beside Sita and look at her.
01:50And I used to be like, yo, I want to play Sita one day.
01:52But that day never came.
01:58No one in my family has ever, you know, stayed away from the parents.
02:02Or, you know, in a different city or state.
02:05And I've always lived in Delhi.
02:07And when I told them that, you know, I want to move to Bombay for work, they were like,
02:11no, no chance you're not going to Bombay.
02:13I was working with some agency in Delhi.
02:15They were opening up a new office in Bombay.
02:17And they were like, don't worry, we are here.
02:19And we look after her.
02:20Every day they used to call me at least six times a day.
02:23Have you eaten?
02:24Have you done this?
02:25Have you done that?
02:26And my friends used to be like, wow, Trupti.
02:37I used to just mug up my lines and go there.
02:39And he used to just give me the brief.
02:41And then I used to just shut my eyes and go ahead with the scenes.
02:44But it was, you know, very difficult.
02:46Because somehow I felt that I wasn't very truthful to the character.
02:50Because I didn't know anything about acting.
