00:00It's not that I'm a woman so I belong in the kitchen and he's going to sit and order me around.
00:05We divide who pays who, salaries among the staff that we have.
00:11He was the only one I felt at the time that I could have a conversation with among the cast.
00:31We were hanging out on the sets of Phukre because he was the only one I felt at the time that I could have a conversation with among the cast.
00:43Apart from Pankaj who I had worked with on Gangs of Vasipavaran, he was essentially one of the boys.
00:48And I had more shooting days with the boys than with him alone.
00:53So we ended up hanging out a lot on the sets of Phukre.
00:56And then over the years we became very good friends and watched plays together, movies together, discussed cinema, did cool things.
01:06So I can't really pinpoint at a time when love blossomed but after a while it just seemed like really natural and organic.
01:15And yeah, we've been together now for a while.
01:23It's a marriage of equals in the sense that we both look at responsibilities of the house.
01:29We have two cats that we are raising.
01:32We divide who pays who, salaries among the staff that we have, our house help, our drivers, who takes care of electricity, who takes care of other things.
01:42So we've managed to keep it equal financially as well as also in terms of domestic responsibilities.
01:49So when Ali is at home and there is a home improvement project that needs to be done like painting or removing mould from the walls which is what he did when I wasn't here.
01:59So like, you know, we both take interest.
02:01It's not that I am a woman so I belong in the kitchen and he is going to sit and order me around.
02:07Or the other way that I need to fix a tube so I am going to climb on a stool and ask him to fix the choke.
02:14You know, it's not like that.
02:16There are no gender roles in the house.
02:18We all do everything.
02:19We produce together and we discuss each other's work together.
02:24Like I'll tell him this is what I thought of your stuff in Ghofia.
02:28This is what he thought of me in Phukre.
02:31We've had two back-to-back releases so the house has been kind of chaotic.
02:34But yeah, we discuss work.
02:36I mean, that's the whole point of having such a nice creative partner that can uplift you and give you solid feedback from a good place, not out of insecurity.
02:48I love you.
