00:00Uh, we'll go to the night game first, uh, Eagles beat the Rams 37 to 20.
00:08Of course, the story here is going to be a Saquon Barkley, who is vaulting himself, uh,
00:13into some serious MVP discussion.
00:16He went last night, Joe, he had 26 carries for 255 yards, two long 70 plus touchdowns.
00:25By the way, he also caught four balls for 47 yards.
00:29Uh, in case you wanted to tap that in as well, uh, for a nice crisp clean, like 300
00:34yards of total offense night, uh, from Saquon Barkley.
00:37Here is the touchdown that I thought, uh, really started to put this one away right
00:41out of the half.
00:42They did a bit.
00:43Did you see him do the interview with McVay coming on the field at halftime?
00:45If we could just get one stop here, you know, we can get ourselves back in this game.
00:49Uh, first play, no stop Westwood one sports.
00:52Eagles will start with the ball on the far side, left task first and 10 from the 30 pistol
00:56formation.
00:57Barkley is the running back receivers, left and right Hertz, left foot in front of right
01:02brings cubby in motion from the left.
01:04Here's the snap Hertz turns, hands it off.
01:06Barkley runs along the right hash up to the 35, 40, 45, 50 down the right sideline, Barkley
01:11to the 30.
01:12Saquon Barkley is gone.
01:13Touchdown Eagles.
01:14On the opening play of the second half, Saquon Barkley bounces outside right and scamper
01:26No better place, Joe, to do stuff like that than in primetime in Los Angeles.
01:32It's so fi, uh, with everybody watching, uh, Barkley, uh, he is having just a ridiculous
01:39year and man, uh, I mean, Mara's head hitting the pillow last night or Joe shade of any
01:45of the guys from the giants.
01:46It must've been some night's sleep, uh, for them after watching Saquon.
01:50No.
01:51Well, anybody watching, I'm going to do an average, almost 10 yards of carry last night.
01:55I mean, you gotta be kidding me, Carver.
01:57Like it was, it was like, uh, it looked like the old Tecmo bowl.
02:01Remember that?
02:02Uh, when Christian and Clay and, uh, and Bojan, you just couldn't tackle him.
02:06That was, he was just bouncing off of guys left and right.
02:08I mean, it was video game numbers.
02:11And more importantly, I think what you won't hear about is the defense sacking Stafford
02:17five times.
02:18You know, this defense continues to get better.
02:22And with Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown, uh, this is a very dangerous Philadelphia team.
02:28I, why are they flying under the radar as little head scratchings?
02:31I mean, nobody seems to be talking about them a lot.
02:35You think they're flying under the, it's a great point, Joe, do you think they're flying
02:38under the radar because the lions have been so dominant in the NFC, uh, going to 10 and
02:45one yesterday, of course.
02:46But it seems like all the talk is lions, lions, lions, lions, destructive, Joe, they're
02:52only one game behind them.
02:53I mean, the lions are 10 and one, the Eagles are nine and two.
02:56Now, all those people who wanted to run Nick Sirianni out of town.
03:01And I'm sure some of them still do.
03:02If you go listen to Philadelphia sports talk radio, I'm sure there's a few that still,
03:06uh, don't think that they'll win because of Sirianni, but Joe, they're one game back and
03:12that's going to be clear.
03:13I mean, I was kind of looking at the schedules before, you know, the lions have some pretty
03:18tough games.
03:19I know they're 10 and one and they're probably the best team in the NFC, but there's a big
03:23difference from playing a late January potential NFC title game outside in Philadelphia or
03:31playing it indoors in Detroit.
03:33There's a pretty big difference in that, Joe.
03:36There's a huge difference in that.
03:38And, uh, I tell you what, the tonight's game is going to make it very interesting next
03:43week when Philadelphia plays at Baltimore and boy, that you want to talk about a good
03:47litmus test between those two teams.
03:49If Baltimore is able to win tonight, take it on Philadelphia, which could be a potential,
03:54oh, I don't know, Superbowl matchup.
03:57I think that's going to be must watch television.
04:00But I think most people are just expecting Sirianni to self implode here.
04:05But I got to tell you what I've seen from Vic Fangio's defense here in Philadelphia.
04:10I don't, I don't even think Sirianni can screw this up.
04:14They, uh, they have an identity.
04:16They stick with it.
04:18And that identity will win games in January, Carl.
04:22It certainly will.
04:23Defense travels, Joe, as they always like to say, defense travels and their defense
04:28doesn't get the gas that maybe Barkley doesn't.
04:31And Barkley's having an unbelievable year.
04:33He deserves what he's getting.
04:34But the defense has also been good.
04:36How much are you buying into now Barkley being a plus 650 third on the board for the MVP
04:42behind Allen and Lamar Jackson?
04:44Well, I mean, listen, we all, it's a quarterback driven league.
04:49It's a quarterback award, uh, cause quarterbacks will get talked to.
04:53I mean, listen, he's won 30 rushing yard game away from being irrelevant.
04:58Right.
04:59Uh, and that's unfortunate, but listen, if he can keep doing this, you know, he's very
05:05much in the conversation more than Josh Allen, more than Lamar.
05:08Uh, but he's just got to avoid that, you know, 12 yards, uh, and one defense stuffs them,
05:14uh, which again, next week will be very interesting against the Baltimore Ravens rush defense.
05:20How good can he be?
