00:00What is it to be human?
00:05When it comes to creatives, we have to be nimble and realize that we're looking at a
00:12different landscape going forward.
00:14AI is new, it's unfamiliar, and that's why it's scary.
00:18Is it just regurgitating or is it creating something new and can a machine create something
00:24new?
00:25I don't think you should be afraid of it because it's coming, it's happening.
00:30So one of the biggest lessons I ever learned from Oprah is resist nothing.
00:36Artificial intelligence is everywhere.
00:38We're already using these tools so often that we've become accustomed to the technology.
00:42It's made our lives easier, faster, and more efficient.
00:46It feels like for every positive headline you see about AI paving the way for magnificent
00:51advancements in science, medicine, engineering.
00:54There's another highlighting all the concerns with these advancements, and it's quite possibly
00:58easiest to see the fallout of all these reservations in the creative industries.
01:03I think that at this point it's impossible to deny that many aspects of this new technology
01:07will make a lasting impact on creative industries in the next few years.
01:11And as someone preparing to embark on my own journey in the media and film industry, I
01:15was really curious to learn as much as I could about the effect AI will have on every vertical
01:19of media production.
01:21And in the process speak to some media professionals to gauge their thoughts on the issues and
01:25benefits associated with the technology.
01:28I do think that it's inevitable that there will be at least some job loss.
01:34The cost effectiveness of that for any number of production companies is going to carry
01:39the day.
01:40I don't lose creativity because I have AI to lean on.
01:45I hope that's not the case.
01:47I don't expect it to be.
01:48I mean, I'm in this business.
01:49I was like, wait a minute here.
01:50Is it really that easy?
01:51I've spent 25 years plus building a craft and a practice and now I'm going to be replaced?
