00:00What do we know about the possibility of this ceasefire deal?
00:08What we know, it seems almost imminent.
00:12It's the Middle East and everything can always collapse and things can always change,
00:17but at the moment it seems that the ceasefire deal is about to happen
00:21and even to be announced in the night hours, in about five or six hours from now,
00:29the Israeli cabinet is set to meet soon to approve the deal.
00:33Yes, there are some criticisms even from within the government and from the general public,
00:38but it seems as if the cabinet will eventually approve the deal
00:42and if that happens we can expect some kind of a statement coming from the presidents of the United States and France,
00:49Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron, maybe even later today.
00:53It seems as if it's about to happen.
00:56And of course the details are not much different than UN Resolution 1701,
01:02which ended the previous war between Israel and Hezbollah back in 2006.
01:06The difference is how can Israel act against violations?
01:10Back then and for 18 years, or 17 years rather, Israel almost did not act in southern Lebanon at all.
01:20Now there's some sort of a mechanism which would allow Israel to act independently in southern Lebanon
01:26if it sees an imminent and immediate threat,
01:29and if it sees a threat that could be applied on a longer term,
01:34there's a committee headed by the United States which Israel could turn to.
01:38If that committee does not deal with the threat, then Israel will be able to act on its own.
01:44This, Israel hopes, will be able to prevent Hezbollah to re-establish itself and regain strength
01:50as many Israelis fear will eventually happen.
