00:00Manchester City lost 4-0 to Tottenham on the weekend, it was their fifth defeat in a row and the worst one in Pep Guardiola's tenure at the club.
00:06The first issue is in failing to properly create and convert chances. City have one of the best finishers in the world in Erling Haaland and came close a few times to netting on Saturday, but there's not much goal threat elsewhere.
00:14Three of Manchester City's six goalscorers have been defenders, with Josco Guardiola somehow seeming to be the biggest goal threat behind Haaland in the squad.
00:22Phil Foden's failed to reach the heights of last season in the absence of a reliable holding midfielder behind him, with Mateo Kovacic's injury only serving to compound the issues that have existed since Rodri was stuck down.
00:31Despite never really seeming to be the player he was at Leeds, there's an argument that a player like Calvin Phillips would be able to prevent the sort of compliance that Tottenham received from the City's midfield of Rico Luiz, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva on the weekend.
00:42While some players are returning from injury, questions have to be asked about the set-up and the team. Gone are the days of defensive solidity that were seen when Walker, Diaz, Laporte and Zinchenko would marshal the back line, with the midfield getting older without obvious replacements coming through.
00:54And they've got a young attack too. Pep Guardiola may very well be the best manager in the world, but now is the time he needs to prove it.
