00:00Yeah, so I think for most people that didn't watch earlier in the week, Thursday and Friday
00:07were extremely windy at Seaside.
00:11Really there was a good wave and a bad wave, although everyone was on the golf course at
00:15the same time.
00:16There were two courses that they played on Thursday and Friday.
00:18And the plantation golf course is very, I would say more so that the Seaside course,
00:25which is the championship course, is way more exposed to the gusty winds.
00:29The plantation course, although right next door, is not as much out on the water.
00:34It's kind of tucked away in the trees a little bit more.
00:37And excuse me, there's a par 72, four par fives.
00:42So when you throw that in there with a couple more wedge opportunities, being on the golf
00:47course on Friday at the plantation course was a huge advantage.
00:51And for the group that was, I would say the marquee group heading into the week was, you
00:56know, they had, well, there's two of them, but on the Seaside course that we watched
01:01on Thursday, it was Luke Clanton and Ludwig Oberg.
01:05And then they go to the plantation course on Friday.
01:07They both shoot 65, 64s.
01:09And then the one 23, 24, 25 guy, which everybody was curious to see how they were going to
01:14play.
01:15That was Joel Damon, Zach Blair and Wesley Bryan.
01:18They go over to the Seaside course on Friday.
01:21None of them really took advantage of a plantation course on Thursday.
01:25So they had to play really solid golf on Friday to make the cut.
01:30And the scoring average I thought was interesting on Friday because it was a par 70 at the Seaside.
01:35It was playing just about three and a half strokes over par.
01:39And if you recall from the year before the Seaside course, 61 61 was shot on the weekend.
01:46So this is a course with good weather that guys can tear it up.
01:49But when you have these crazy winds, three, three, four club wins that these guys are
01:53dealing with, it made it really difficult.
01:55And that's why I thought it was so impressive to see at least one of those guys make it
02:00out of it, which was Joel Damon.
02:03He played some incredible golf on that back nine, the four and he hit it 14, made a putt
02:09from about 20 feet off the green.
02:11And then just an incredible little putt he made on 18 really that's back into the breeze
02:16like five feet away.
02:18I mean, you basically have a job or you don't if you make or miss.
02:22And then I kind of felt like he was just going to cruise in the rest of the way.
02:25And then Sunday, like he had to go shoot 65 or better and he hit it really well, hold
02:29it out on 13, his fourth hole of the day.
02:32But yeah, Wesley and Zach, like Zach hit it really well, just didn't make anything.
02:37And Wesley was, it was really weird commentating on him because I think he's like, I know he's
02:42really quick, like in how he plays, but he was so rushed and how like he didn't take
02:49any time over it.
02:50And I know that's kind of like his thing and, but I just felt like he let a couple
02:55of shots go, not just giving it a little extra time now.
03:00That's just my opinion.
03:01I think other people that maybe watch Wes play or be like, this is what he does and
03:04this is how he plays.
03:05But it to me, like, just felt like he needed to just slow down a little bit.
