00:00The old saying does not hold true, not when there is an assault involved.
00:05The old saying being, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
00:08No, sometimes it ends up in court, and for Trey Songz, this one's going to cost him.
00:13Because I remember this was about three years ago, I think it was three years ago,
00:17when there was an alleged assault at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas.
00:23And the person who was allegedly assaulted said that he had involved his girlfriend,
00:29he went into a hotel room to get her out of the hotel room,
00:34and ended up getting beat to hell by, he says, by Trey Songz and his associates.
00:40Wasn't he a cop?
00:41Yes, yes, Capitol Police.
00:43Yeah, it was a big ruckus, but at the same time, Trey Songz was cleared of any wrongdoing, so...
00:49Criminally, it was, not civilly.
00:52Yeah, not civilly, you know, so he has to pay the tab.
00:54I guess the silver lining is he's about to go on tour with Bow Wow,
00:57so he'll be able to pay the bills.
00:59Is he going to get back $11 million?
01:01I mean, so the guy who was beat up, sued, ended up, even though Trey was cleared criminally,
01:06this guy sued him civilly.
01:07Now, my understanding is it was a default judgment.
01:11A lot of times with these default judgments, you can go in within a certain period of time,
01:16get them set aside, if you say, I didn't get service, I didn't get the summons, or whatever.
01:22But it doesn't seem that happened here.
01:25Unique from L.A., Los Angeles.
01:27Well, I guess we know who wasn't paying attention to his kindergarten teacher about keeping hands to yourself.
01:32But look, we've known for years that, you know, Trey Songz has been accused of bad behavior.
01:36And so I guess he got to pay the cost.
01:40It's better to pay $11 million than go to jail for 11 years.
01:44So, yeah, hopefully he has learned his lesson.
