00:00What say you to Drake's running
00:02to court to battle not like us?
00:04Yeah, it's not, it's not playing
00:06well. And like to be totally
00:08honest, even though I'm known as
00:10like a big Kendrick guy, but you
00:12know, always been a huge
00:14supporter. I, I kind of crowned
00:16him the goat, you know, over a
00:18decade ago. And, um, at times I
00:20was being hyperbolic and then at
00:22times it's just completely true.
00:24He just has been that great. I,
00:26I'm not even enjoying this like
00:28this sort of pile on is not
00:30particularly fun. And the weird
00:32thing is, I don't know who Drake's
00:34talking to. Like, I just, I don't
00:36know who's making the suggestions
00:38going all the way back to using
00:40the AI Tupac to the
00:42begging of Kendrick Lamar. Like
00:44please, I want this action.
00:46It's just been one thing after
00:48another. So then I'm going to come back
00:50and I'm going to do a song with a
00:52traditional Mexican artist. Then I'm
00:54going to do a project with party
00:56and nothing seems to add up to
00:58a bounce back guys. I don't know
01:00what he's thinking. Honestly, you
01:02know, it reminds me of this saying,
01:04you know, who are you going to believe
01:06me or your lion eyes? I mean,
01:08everybody he's talking to out there
01:10loves the song. And now they're
01:12saying he's trying to explain to
01:14people it's really not as popular
01:16as you think. And that seems just
01:18so missing the Mark that
01:20or at least, or maybe saying
01:22yes, it's popular, but it didn't
01:24make it popular. Organic. That's
01:26not the way people view this. And
01:28it just seems to me that even with
01:30the rap battle, that's not fatal
01:32for him. But to tell people
01:34it's almost like the election. You
01:36don't tell people you don't know
01:38what you're thinking. You don't
01:40know what you're talking about. It's
01:42not the way you think you don't
01:44like that song. I don't. Yeah, I
01:46don't think that I think that could
01:48be really devastating to his
01:50career. Is that, is that
01:52one takes a Harvey. And by
01:54the way, I was going to say, and I
01:56don't mean this to cause like political
01:58turmoil. It's actually is a very
02:00Trumpy and thing that sort of
02:02doing like, no, no, no. Trust
02:04me. It's almost like projecting.
02:06It's almost like maybe you're
02:08the kind of guy who's used bots
02:10at different points and you've played
02:12kind of games like this. So you're
02:14suggesting it of someone else. Listen,
02:16and I don't know that to be true. I have
02:18no idea if Drake's ever done anything
02:20like this, but I'll tell you one thing.
02:22I know Kendrick Lamar has never
02:24operated that way and that's what
02:26makes this hard. Kendrick Lamar is
02:28the guy of impeccable integrity.
02:30And so this doesn't play very well.
02:32Now, interestingly today, the
02:34follow-up suit, the defamation
02:36suit, saying that
02:38that is the only suit there
02:40ever should have been. And if you
02:42were going to do it, it should
02:44have been immediate and it should
02:46have been Swift. Now it's going to
02:48in this whole other thing that looks just like sour grapes.
02:52If the claim Drake is making
02:54is that all of these different things
02:55that Kendrick Lamar did,
02:57from running up the numbers supposedly
02:59to the supposed defamation,
03:00all of those things are costing Drake.
03:03They're causing him to lose money.
03:05I would argue that the existence of these lawsuits alone
03:09will cost him more money long-term.
03:11I think Drake had a huge opportunity.
03:13I would have taken this moment
03:14that definitely went bad in the moment
03:17and responded with the greatest rap record he's ever made.
03:20To me, that would have been the thing.
03:22You've always been an underrated MC.
03:25You've always wanted to have people believe
03:27that you're a great MC,
03:28but the problem is, guys,
03:29he's always too in love with being popular in the club
03:32and on the radio to lean into the rap stuff.
03:36This was an opportunity to respond
03:39with a devastating rap album with high-level producers,
03:43with some features of people who still support you,
03:46and you deliver your best body of work to date.
03:49That would have been the response.
03:51What we have gotten has been
03:52like the complete opposite at every turn.
