00:00The Philippines and the UAE strongly agreed on the visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:07The two countries also agreed to strengthen cooperation and assistance in various fields.

00:21That's how President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. described his one-day working visit

00:27to the United Arab Emirates.

00:28In his visit, the country's executive board laid out the readiness

00:33to deepen the relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.

00:37The signed agreements proved that the two countries will benefit from each other.

00:43I look forward to the implementation of several bilateral agreements

00:46in culture, energy transition, legal cooperation, artificial intelligence,

00:52a digital economy, the improvement of government activities,

00:56visa waiver for holders of diplomatic, special, and official passports,

01:00and investment cooperation.

01:02In his visit to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Alnayan,

01:07the executive board recognized the efforts of the UAE government

01:11to take care of the 700,000 Filipinos there.

01:14The UAE President also praised the great contribution of the Filipino community

01:19in the establishment of the Gulf State.

01:20I thank Sheikh Alnayan for understanding that my visit had to be cut short

01:25given the need to attend to relief and reconstruction activities

01:29in communities devastated by successive typhoons.

01:32I also conveyed appreciation for the UAE's government's constant humanitarian support

01:38for victims of these natural calamities.

01:41The President also invited the UAE President who visited the country

01:44to continue the talks and discussions on the additional areas of cooperation.

01:50The Chief Executive of the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

01:58also discussed the strengthening of the partnership between the Philippines and the UAE,

02:03especially in the sector of tourism and investment.

02:07The first step was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation

02:13between the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts of the Philippines

02:17and the Ministry of Culture of the UAE.

02:19Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,

02:25who is also the Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority,

02:28also helped in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Philippines and the UAE.

02:34The President and First Lady Luis Araneta Marcos arrived in the country at 10 a.m.
