00:00Well, they exist because often the internet connection into people's home is absolutely
00:06fine.
00:07But then within the home, the Wi-Fi signal just doesn't reach all the bits of their house.
00:13And this is a shame because customers can do something about it, but they don't always
00:17know what to do.
00:19Sometimes it's as simple as just moving your router a meter so that it goes through the
00:24house a bit better, or we can advise for bigger houses for customers to put Wi-Fi repeaters
00:32in their rooms so that the Wi-Fi signal will get boosted throughout the whole house.
00:39Or in some cases, we're one of the first broadband providers to start offering Wi-Fi 7, which
00:44is the latest Wi-Fi technology, and that is faster.
00:49It's particularly good in environments where there's a lot of potential interference, so
00:56for example, blocks of flats where you've got neighbours left, right, up and down, who've
01:01all got their own Wi-Fi networks.
01:04And in some cases, for customers that, for example, live next to airports, sometimes
01:08you get interference from the radars from airports, and again, Wi-Fi 7 copes with that
01:14a lot better than the previous technologies.
01:17We're becoming increasingly more reliant on the internet.
01:19What trends or innovations do you see emerging that could help eliminate hotspots entirely
01:24both for homes and businesses?
01:26So the technology exists today, and this is, I suppose, the eye-opener from the survey
01:33that a third of people are saying they have got hotspots, but the technology does exist
01:39to fix that today.
01:40We don't need any more developments.
01:42What customers need is a broadband provider that's just going to give them some simple
01:48steps, some simple advice to get rid of their hotspots.
01:52Don't suffer in silence and think there's not a fix, because there is a fix, and it's
01:56here today.
01:57But yeah, you just need to go and find it.
