00:00When Malaysia switched to a green economy under the 7th State Energy Transition Plan,
00:07more jobs with decent wages are expected to be created, especially in the energy sector, can be renewed.
00:15To support this transition, the government has added easy-to-use state energy transition funds
00:21to RM300 million under the 2025 budget, compared to RM200 million the year before.
00:28According to economist Lee Hanggui, this will not only create jobs in the energy sector that can be renewed,
00:35but also in the traditional industry, such as manufacturing and new fields that are developing, such as electric vehicles.
00:43Lee from the Malaysian Socio-Economic Research Center explained that the transition to green energy
00:49is a development that involves the entire economy, opening up opportunities in various industries.
00:56NETR aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and increase energy that can be renewed by 70% by 2050.
01:06It is also expected to generate more than 84,000 jobs in a short period of time,
01:12and 300,000 jobs by 2050, while attracting foreign investment worth RM60.7 billion.
01:21Previously, Minister of Human Resources Steven Sim said that jobs in the green sector are expected to offer higher wages,
01:28with wages ranging from RM3,000 to RM16,000 per month.
01:33However, Malaysians need to master new skills to take advantage of this opportunity.
01:38Lee said the skills required include philosophy, management, and human skills such as adaptability and creativity.
01:47He also emphasized the need for better coordination between stakeholders such as the government,
01:54academia and industry to ensure that the right skills can be developed for green jobs.
