00:00I decided to march with you today because I don't want to see any more construction workers dying of heat stress.
00:08I don't want another mother to have to go through what I've had to.
00:12Our family has changed forever after Glenn died and I miss him and we miss him every day.
00:20My son was a big strong concreter.
00:23He was proud to work in the construction industry and he died of heat stress
00:28after working in temperatures that was actually about 42 degrees
00:34registered at Roma Airport that day.
00:38The gas project where Glenn worked did not have a heat policy to protect workers.
00:44The contractor did not take him to hospital straight away.
00:48Instead they sent him back to his donger where he collapsed and died.
00:53He was only 38.
00:56The company received no penalty as the laws were so vague and complex
01:03and the initial investigation by Workplace Health and Safety was so hopeless
01:09that they didn't have the evidence, or so they said, to take the case any further.
