00:00Surprise everybody and welcome to a new episode of Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel where you might have guessed it, each and every episode is one big surprise.
00:12Coming into this interview, I have no idea who our guest is.
00:15Okay, first clue.
00:16She's one of the first and an idol of the new generation.
00:20She's a talented Makata.
00:22Poet? Is she a poet?
00:24But sometimes, she's a pillion.
00:26Sometimes, she's looking for ugliness.
00:30And it's hard to be handsome.
00:32I think I know her.
00:33She became a DJ, an artist, and now she owns a record label.
00:38She has 32 blockbuster movies and 19 platinum album awards.
00:44I'm thinking, our surprise guest for today is...
00:49Andrew E.
00:50Yes!
00:53Sir, Andrew E. Oh my gosh!
00:54We have a legend with us on the show today.
00:56Thank you for surprising us today.
00:59Hi, Pia. Thank you.
01:00It's a dead giveaway.
01:02Even if there are no other words for ugly and handsome, just put those words there.
01:08Andrew E. is the top of mind to think about.
01:11For the ugly clue, they had a hard time.
01:14For the handsome one, they were easy.
01:16Actually, I was confused there.
01:17But when he said handsome, that's it.
01:20It's because, of course, those words are so associated with the song, Humarap Ka ng Panget.
01:25Especially for someone from my generation.
01:27Because we're still in high school.
01:29Kata is already famous.
01:30And that song has really stood the test of time.
01:33Because even my daughter knows that song.
01:35Oh wow.
01:36It's so cool to have you on the show.
01:38I actually just saw you on Family Feud.
01:40And I was telling my husband, Andrew E. has a concert coming up.
01:43It's funny, right?
01:44Because you were there on the show.
01:46And you mentioned that you have a concert coming up.
01:48And I enjoyed the show.
01:49We almost won.
01:50But that's alright.
01:52But when is the concert?
01:5411 December.
01:55So it's so monumental for me.
01:58Because it's going to be my very first in all those 34 years.
02:02For me in the industry, it's my first solo concert.
02:05Solo major concert.
02:08I've done so many things in my career.
02:12And yet, I forgot doing one thing.
02:14Which is to do a solo concert.
02:16So here it is.
02:17For the crowd and for the madlap.
02:19Coming up this December 11.
02:21At the New Frontier Theater.
02:23Produced by Ticket One.
02:25A lot of super special guests coming in with me.
02:29One of which is, of course, the main girl, Miss Regine Velasquez.
02:34Not only that.
02:35Miss Heaven Peralejo.
02:36Yes.
02:37And of course, Concert King Martin Rivera will be there.
02:41And of course, Anigma.
02:43The flip-top master will be there.
02:45Wow!
02:46Actually, I can't believe that this is your first concert.
02:48I thought so at first.
02:49Me too.
02:50Was my guess right?
02:51Andrew has been doing this for a long time.
02:53And this is his first concert.
02:55First solo concert.
02:56Yeah.
02:57Did you really just forget about it?
02:58You said that in all your years,
03:00that's the one thing you forgot to do along the way.
03:02How does somebody forget to have a solo concert?
03:06That's like half-joke, but it's half-true.
03:09I forgot about it because I was preoccupied with strengthening my name.
03:14And solidifying my name in the industry.
03:17Because at that time, 34 years ago, I came from nowhere.
03:21I had no celebrity links.
03:23I have no connections and all that.
03:25I tried auditioning my very best.
03:29When I first had a taste of what it is to be in the industry,
03:34of course, my main goal at that time and to the succeeding years
03:38will be solidifying my name.
03:40What happened was, I was preoccupied with that.
03:43Solidify your name as a rapper.
03:46Then came a year after as a movie actor.
03:49Then came years after as an entertainer.
03:52And then years came after doing all things.
03:56At that time, the trend was first,
03:59introduce yourself to a major concert,
04:02to a major solo concert,
04:04before you get spread out in the whole industry.
04:08That was the usual norm.
04:11But now, of course, with social media and all,
04:14that's no longer there.
04:15That notion is no longer there.
04:17So, it's erased.
04:18And yet, I thought of putting it back.
04:22Because I remember,
04:23Hey, I've done a lot of things, but what?
04:26I've never done this thing.
04:28If there comes along a producer offering me something like that,
04:32giving me the whole freedom and the whole nine yards
04:35of how to create the entertainment,
04:38then I will join that producer and be a part of his production.
04:42So, it happened.
04:43Ticket won, yeah, under Jonathan Lee.
04:46So, thank you so much, Mr. Jonathan Lee,
04:48for the acceptance and at the same time,
04:51the chance to do it with you.
04:52Well, this must be so exciting because, of course,
04:54when somebody has been in any particular field or industry
04:58as long as you have,
04:59as you said, more than 30 years,
05:01you always look for new things to do to excite you, right?
05:04And, of course, to excite your fans and your audience as well.
05:08But my fans are so old to be excited.
05:12Ouch!
05:13I'm not included in that.
05:15But then again, the preference of doing this would be
05:19the real true fans where I would love to show my appreciation,
05:25my true and genuine appreciation for them
05:28because all along the years they're here,
05:30they still appreciate me.
05:32At the same time, they really do like my music
05:34and they really do support all my endeavors.
05:37So, for them, I would love to share this effort also
05:41and entertain them.
05:43And not only that, for the new generation,
05:45for me to be recognized
05:47and, at the same time, to be appreciated also
05:49because, of course, the new generation,
05:52in Metro Manila, there's no festivity like that.
05:55In the province, there is a lot, you know?
05:58But now, the new generation sticks to having it at home with Spotify,
06:04their own cell phone and all that.
06:06They hear you as a rapper,
06:08but they really don't know you as a performer.
06:11So, this is my golden chance of elevating myself
06:15to a level where in which I could be a performer
06:19to their ears and, at the same time, to their eyes.
06:22So, it's like a complete experience.
06:25Speaking of your music,
06:28when we think of Andrew E,
06:29really one of the first songs that would come to mind
06:32then and now would still be Humanap Ka Nang Pangit, right?
06:35Can you tell us, what's the story of that song?
06:38Did you write it?
06:40Or did it come to you spur of the moment?
06:43How was that?
06:44Were the characters from San Lorenzoville real?
06:48Did I write it? Yes.
06:50Did that concept come to me? No.
06:54It came from a situation where I took an exam in Subic.
06:59And then in Subic, I failed the test.
07:01I was not accepted.
07:03But there was an incident in Subic that made me think about the title.
07:08There was a drunk person in between me going to the motel.
07:13So, when I saw the man in front of me,
07:16I moved him because we can't pass through.
07:18He hit me in the back.
07:20So, my feeling was that he was angry because I moved him.
07:24But he wasn't angry.
07:26He just warned me.
07:28He told me,
07:29Hey, look at the man. He's a bad person.
07:31When I heard that,
07:32suddenly my mind was like in turbulence of thinking something
07:36This is the first time I heard this.
07:38And then when I heard that,
07:40then that's the time that I appreciated the situation.
07:43I identified with that kind of idea.
07:46Why?
07:47Because all throughout my attempt to get into the showbiz,
07:51all the auditions or games I addressed,
07:56I don't know,
07:57I failed drastically because I don't have that good looks.
08:01So, going back to Manila,
08:03on a bus, I wrote the lyrics.
08:05Wow, okay.
08:06That's how it is.
08:07I never knew the story behind that.
08:09That's where it started.
08:10But all the characters there,
08:12it's just like a figment of the imagination.
08:14Or did you base it on something?
08:16In all your songs, things like that?
08:18First of all,
08:19I'm the one who came up with those lyrics.
08:24So, it is not very strange to me.
08:28Each and every line that I dished out
08:31is always a little bit, 99%,
08:35pertaining to what I saw,
08:37what I did,
08:38what happened to me,
08:40and what transpired during my teenage life.
08:43So, it means that
08:44what I'm saying is not strange to me anymore.
08:48So, they asked me,
08:49did you relate to that song just because,
08:51relatively, you can relate to it?
08:54I said, no.
08:55It's not just that.
08:56It's more than that.
08:57It was my life.
08:59Oh, wow.
09:01I get rejected in all sorts of things.
09:04So, once you experience that in your life,
09:08it's easy for you to dish out those lyrics.
09:11It's very easy.
09:12He didn't leave anything to a factory worker
09:15who makes the product every day.
09:18Even if he or she closes the product,
09:20he or she can do the product by himself.
09:23Was that your first hit song,
09:24when you were looking for a bad guy?
09:26Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:28Were you surprised by people's reactions?
09:31There were two reactions.
09:32One was the country-wide reaction.
09:35Why?
09:36Because it was introduced as a new song for 1991,
09:40New Year's Eve.
09:42So, it was played on the radio,
09:441990, December 31.
09:47At the end of the year,
09:49a radio station or a DJ will play a new song, right?
09:53But what I'm not accustomed to is to hear my own song.
09:58It was a tremendous feeling.
09:59It was so big, I can't imagine it.
10:02I can't digest it for myself.
10:03But the other day,
10:05I introduced it on the same night,
10:07on the same night when I wrote it.
10:11At that time, it was June 30, okay?
10:15June 30 of 1990.
10:17That was the day when I did my entrance exam
10:20for the U.S. Navy in Subic.
10:22I was a DJ in Euphoria.
10:25Every week, right?
10:27Really? Okay.
10:28So, I tried to memorize that song,
10:32you know, like one or two verses,
10:35and then tried it on the same night, same day,
10:38I entered as a DJ.
10:40And it was full jam-packed at that time.
10:43If I'm not mistaken,
10:45the company that rented Euphoria at that time,
10:47it was so jam-packed,
10:48wall-to-wall in the crowd.
10:50So, I know this is the perfect timing
10:52for me to finish up this song.
10:54So, I would know and I would feel
10:57how the people will react
10:59if they hear this kind of song, right?
11:01So, okay.
11:02I told my co-DJ,
11:04play a beat, play a beat.
11:05And then he played a beat.
11:07But not the original now
11:09because at that time, I didn't have a beat, right?
11:12So, he played a beat, a generic beat,
11:14and then a slow one like that.
11:16I was proud.
11:17I was so proud and so happy.
11:19But you know what happened?
11:20All the jam-packed people from the dance floor
11:23disappeared.
11:24Huh? Why?
11:26Because I never knew and realized that
11:30I forgot they were paying 500 pesos
11:34to enter Euphoria
11:36to find good-looking girls and guys.
11:38I forgot.
11:41I forgot about that.
11:43Then here comes me, you know.
11:46I'm like, hey, hey, hey.
11:48No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
11:50This guy, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
11:52So, they got mad.
11:54Everyone left the dance floor.
11:56So, my boss, the floor director or floor manager,
12:00told me,
12:01go down, go down, go down, go down.
12:03So, he charged me a penalty,
12:06which is 50 pesos per night.
12:08Every time the crowd disappears in Euphoria,
12:12when I'm on the mic,
12:14it's 50 pesos penalty for me.
12:16Oh, really?
12:17There's such a thing?
12:18But at that time, it was double
12:21because the crowd disappeared.
12:24So, that's 100 pesos for me penalty.
12:28And I was so electrified.
12:32I was shocked.
12:34And I don't know what to and how to react.
12:37But I was contemplating of saying to myself
12:41and telling myself,
12:42did I say something wrong?
12:47But then again, after a few hours,
12:49I go, oh yeah, oh yeah.
12:51I'm in Euphoria.
12:52I forgot.
12:58So, what I did the next day,
13:00next day, Andrew E. was on revenge mode.
13:07And my salary at the time was just 2,000 pesos.
13:10I need revenge.
13:12So, the next day, I came to Euphoria.
13:15No person, no people, no nothing.
13:17It was just me and the technician.
13:19I told him,
13:20Brother, don't turn on the air conditioner.
13:22I'm just here to practice.
13:24Just an example.
13:26He was going to report that I was there.
13:29Just an example.
13:30I'm here to practice.
13:31But he didn't know.
13:32I didn't bring food.
13:34I'll have lunch there.
13:35As early as 1 o'clock.
13:37My work is 10 o'clock in the PM.
13:40It's still night.
13:41Yeah, it's still night.
13:42But at 1 o'clock, I'm already there.
13:441 o'clock.
13:45So, I'm already there.
13:46All alone.
13:47Me, myself, and my baon,
13:50and my ice tea at the time,
13:53and my pad, and my pen.
13:56I wrote on that day,
13:58Andrew Ford Medina.
14:00This is Anna.
14:01This is Karen.
14:02This is Tanya.
14:03This is Jill.
14:04Now, it was an inverted song.
14:08To do revenge on the night that I got penalized.
14:11I said,
14:12Okay, this is it.
14:13I know.
14:14Guess what?
14:15You know, last night.
14:16And then, Mercedes Benz.
14:17And then, you know, San Lorenzo.
14:20I'm dropping all the names
14:23that will really generate more hype for me
14:26come MC time, right?
14:29So, when I made the song,
14:31I memorized it again the whole afternoon.
14:33And on that night,
14:34I dished out Andrew Ford Medina.
14:37Believe me.
14:38It was, again,
14:39there was a jumpa crowd, again.
14:42My boss said,
14:45This guy is so tough.
14:47He just got a coffee penalty.
14:49He's on stage again, right?
14:50So, I was like,
14:52Brother, give me a beat
14:54at this speed.
14:55He gave me like 125.
14:59And then, the crowd was like,
15:00Oh, they were listening.
15:02They were listening.
15:03I mentioned my name droppings.
15:08Mercedes Benz,
15:09Ana,
15:10this guy,
15:11Tanya,
15:12Jill,
15:13San Lorenzo.
15:14Believe me, Pia.
15:15The roof of my house
15:19was about to fall down
15:21with all the noise.
15:24That's how you relate.
15:25Yeah.
15:26And then,
15:27my boss was looking at me.
15:32And then,
15:33he said to me,
15:34Oh, good, good, good.
15:35You know what happened?
15:36He returned the 100.
15:38Oh, you won.
15:42So, he returned the 100 right away.
15:44Andrew E has a strong heart, right?
15:47Wow.
15:48So, when we first heard that song,
15:52my friends and I said,
15:54Is that a real person?
15:56Ana, Karen, Tanya, and Jill?
15:59Or not?
16:00They were.
16:01Ah, they were.
16:02So, there were…
16:03And Ana,
16:04so, also true.
16:05Because there was an Ana at that time
16:07who was being chased by her father's Mercedes Benz.
16:11Is she an artist?
16:12No.
16:13Ah, okay.
16:14Because, remember at that time,
16:151990,
16:17and I became an artist in 1991.
16:20Ah, okay.
16:21So,
16:22people thought it was Anroses.
16:25Yes.
16:26That's what you remember.
16:27They thought it was a person.
16:28It was Ana from San Lorenzo
16:31who was the daughter of a general.
16:33And then,
16:34her father was chasing her.
16:36Her father was chasing her Mercedes Benz.
16:38Wow.
16:39Imagine that.
16:40So, this just proves, Andrew,
16:42that your target market
16:44spans all audiences, right?
16:47May I add to that?
16:48May I add to that?
16:49That's correct.
16:50Not just that.
16:51To be frank and sharp,
16:53TAMASA was never my crowd at first.
16:58Because I was rapping and emceeing
17:00on expensive clubs and discos.
17:03So, there was no crowd there.
17:05You know?
17:06There was no crowd there.
17:07I started at Zig Zag in 1986,
17:09and then climbed up to Stargazer.
17:12And then, there was Zig Zag.
17:14And then, there was Rumors,
17:16if you can remember.
17:17Yes.
17:18No?
17:19Yes.
17:20No, I remember.
17:21Yeah, Rumors.
17:22And then, there was Odyssey.
17:24There was Odyssey.
17:25And then,
17:26there was one more,
17:27but I can't recall the name.
17:29But it was all high-end clubs and all that.
17:33So, that's where my name spread,
17:35at first.
17:36From 1986 to 1987,
17:38to 1988,
17:391989,
17:401990.
17:41So, in 1990,
17:42Andrew's name reached college students.
17:46Because I was already famous at that time.
17:48At that time,
17:49I was already singing at Saint's School.
17:51I was already singing at Papua.
17:54I was already performing at their festivals
17:57and all that.
17:58That's why they already had a chance
18:00to bootleg my cassettes.
18:02My performances in Euphoria,
18:04at that time.
18:05Because it was just a cassette that day, right?
18:07Yes.
18:08But then,
18:09the massa came
18:10only after I went out with my album.
18:16Because that was the vehicle for me to ride on
18:19so that I could hear the whole Philippines.
18:22On the radio, like that?
18:23Yeah, the Philippines heard me
18:25even in 1991.
18:28But the rich people and the high society
18:31were happy to know me already
18:33way longer than that.
18:35Even before.
18:36But during the time that you were DJing,
18:39Sir Andrew,
18:40did you really want to become a rapper-singer already?
18:45Or were you just young?
18:47Is this what you were working on?
18:49That's correct.
18:50Maybe, I don't know,
18:51maybe serving as my entry point.
18:53Because, of course,
18:55how can you enter the showbiz arena
18:58when you don't have any contacts and leagues
19:01and connections, right?
19:03I'm poor at that.
19:05So the only thing I have is talent.
19:07And at that time,
19:09my talent was so strange to everyone.
19:12Because at that time,
19:13I was just doing that,
19:14or maybe Francis M was just doing that.
19:16How can the people appreciate you
19:18when they don't know what you're doing?
19:20Because when you rap,
19:22for example,
19:23listen everybody,
19:24when you hear someone rap like that,
19:26at that time,
19:27you'll think that you're crazy.
19:30Because they won't think that it's a song.
19:32They won't think that it's a song.
19:34No, no, no.
19:35Because you're not singing.
19:36Yes.
19:37Okay.
19:38Listen everybody,
19:39it's like you're talking.
19:40What if you're just messing around?
19:41It's even more dangerous.
19:42Right?
19:43Think about it.
19:44You're talking to yourself.
19:45You know what I mean?
19:46So,
19:47the Filipinos at that time
19:48cannot appreciate you.
19:50Zero balance.
19:51So, for me,
19:52what's the hardest part?
19:53I don't look like a celebrity.
19:55I don't look like an artista.
19:57I'm not mestizo.
19:59At that time,
20:00I'm an ordinary-looking guy.
20:01So, that's the hardest part.
20:03Combine all of them,
20:05and the question is,
20:07how can you be?
20:08The only way to do that
20:10is to elementalize yourself,
20:12being as an element,
20:14being as someone,
20:15na nagpupusige,
20:18meaning,
20:19your initiative is so big
20:20na makikita ka ng tao
20:21na marirealize nila
20:22anong pang pinaglalaban
20:23itong taong to?
20:25You know, like, why?
20:26I mean, like,
20:27he looks ordinary.
20:28He's not good-looking.
20:30He doesn't look like a model.
20:32He doesn't look anything
20:33to some sort of that.
20:35And yet,
20:36bakit very aggressive siya
20:37mag-audition,
20:38inuubos ko lahat sila,
20:40and yet,
20:41I don't pass.
20:42And yet,
20:43I don't get accepted.
20:45And yet,
20:46I get rejected.
20:47So, what's with me?
20:49It's the only hope
20:51of someone,
20:53somebody,
20:54some company,
20:55I don't know,
20:56some entity,
20:57I don't know
20:58who will recognize
20:59what I'm doing
21:00because at that time,
21:01I cannot blame the people.
21:02I cannot blame the industry
21:04because they don't know yet
21:05of what I'm doing.
21:06Iba na yung perseverance.
21:08I kept on going.
21:09I kept on going.
21:10I kept on going.
21:11And then,
21:12sooner or later,
21:13may mapapate.
21:14Sooner or later,
21:15may magkakatch attention.
21:17But that is not guaranteed
21:19at that time.
21:20So, I said,
21:21the only way to do that
21:23is panakana ka.
21:25Slowly.
21:26Slowly.
21:27Little by little.
21:28Inch by inch.
21:29Nag-DJ muna.
21:30DJ lang muna
21:31so the people can see me.
21:33So the people can hear me.
21:35They can witness what I'm doing.
21:37And at that time,
21:38early, early on,
21:3987, 88,
21:41believe me,
21:42nag-hype na ako ng crowd.
21:44What I'm doing now,
21:45I was doing 38 years ago.
21:49Were you always musically inclined?
21:52Is it from the influence of your parents?
21:55Siblings?
21:57What kind of music were you listening to
21:59at a very young age?
22:00Two kinds of music.
22:01Nag-start ako,
22:02black music.
22:03Early 70s,
22:04the Commodores.
22:05Yan. Yan.
22:06Yan talaga.
22:07You stumbled upon it?
22:08Or nadirinig mo?
22:09No, no, no.
22:10Sa radio.
22:11Sa radio.
22:12Kasi radio lang ang means namin
22:14at the time.
22:15We were so poor.
22:16Radio lang ang means namin at the time.
22:18And then came Wild Cherry.
22:20Wild Cherry was 1977,
22:23I think.
22:24Ganyan.
22:2578, 79.
22:26Yan, Wild Cherry.
22:27Then, yung Tagalog rock.
22:29Yung Pinoy rock.
22:30Dumating yun at the time.
22:32So yung mga Mike Hannibal,
22:35Mara Kafra,
22:36Wanda Lapusban,
22:38ganyan, ganyan.
22:39And then came the Manila Sound in 79 again.
22:43So, the Cinderella and all that.
22:45The Boyfriends and all that.
22:47The Hotdogs and all that.
22:49So, yun.
22:50Nagsama-sama yun.
22:51Then the production was me.
22:52When you decided to do this,
22:54you were really parang set
22:56na ito yung magiging career mo?
22:58Wala ka ibang options.
23:00In fact, I'm not eagerly targeting
23:04to be a movie actor at the time.
23:06Because I know,
23:07it's definitely impossible.
23:10So, ang target ko lang is
23:12to be a rapper,
23:13and to be an artist,
23:15make music and make some wax.
23:17Wax means, you know,
23:18like records.
23:19Like vinyls.
23:20So, yun.
23:21Yun lang ang habo ko.
23:22Because at that time,
23:23syempre, yun lang din
23:24ang alam namin na available.
23:25Pero hindi ko alam na
23:27along the way,
23:28Boss Vic and Viva
23:29will create a movie actor
23:31coming from me
23:33na an Andre name,
23:35and then introduce ako sa masa.
23:37So, that strengthened my name.
23:40Kasi, coming from the Andre,
23:42the elite,
23:43came down to the master side
23:46as a movie actor,
23:47as a comedian.
23:48Yun.
23:49And then, binudburan ako
23:50ng maraming leading ladies,
23:51magagandang leading ladies
23:52at the time.
23:53So, yun.
23:54At one point in the 90s,
23:56I had a tagline
23:58on the newspaper.
24:00And I can readily recall it
24:02because I'm so fond of it.
24:04Andre, the most kissed actor
24:07in the Philippines.
24:10Sa dami na naging leading lady.
24:15Lahat na leading lady maganda.
24:17The irony of it all.
24:19The irony.
24:20Na yung nangyayari sa akin sa movie
24:22ay pinapangarap
24:23ng lahat na magagandang lalaki.
24:26Si Andrew E.
24:27ang nagwagi.
24:29Now that you have been
24:30in the industry
24:31for more than 30 years,
24:33would you say
24:34it gets tiresome?
24:35You know, sometimes?
24:37Hindi ka ba napapagod
24:38at any point?
24:44Stay updated with Nelson Canlas.
24:47Na-busted ka na ba?

25:07na-ilabas?

25:10Pakitanong po
25:11po ang reason
25:12ng breakup ni Carla.
25:14Wow, talagang derecho, ha?
25:16Ipagpatuloy mo yung prinsipyo
25:18na sa gagawin mo,
25:20wag kang manakit,
25:21be fair
25:22and be grateful.
25:23Updated with Nelson Canlas.
25:33Now that you have been
25:34in the industry
25:35for more than 30 years,
25:37would you say
25:38it gets tiresome?
25:40Sometimes?
25:41Hindi ka ba napapagod
25:42at any point?
25:43You know what?
25:44That's a very popular question
25:45now with me.
25:46Hindi ka ba napapagod?
25:48Pia, be shocked
25:49with my answer.
25:50Kung ang tanong mo is,
25:51hindi ka ba napapagod
25:52because all these years
25:53you've been doing the same thing.
25:54Pia,
25:55I haven't started yet.
25:56I haven't started yet.
25:58You know, like,
25:59first of all,
26:00I have no Hollywood movie yet.
26:02That's a goal.
26:03In terms of achievement,
26:04wala pa ako nun.
26:06So please,
26:07let me know.
26:08I'm still dreaming of it?
26:09No.
26:10No.
26:11It's still on my bucket list.
26:12You know what I mean?
26:13Marasan dinami,
26:14dami din nagawa ako.
26:15But then, for me, talagang,
26:16parang wala pa ako nagagawa.
26:17Always remember, diba?
26:18A person who gets tired
26:20by the eyes
26:22but feels so fresh
26:23by the heart
26:24is still the same person
26:26who wants to start first.
26:27Well, that's a great attitude
26:29to keep you motivated
26:30and to keep you, you know,
26:31going in the industry, diba?
26:33Yeah.
26:34Especially in a very
26:35competitive industry.
26:36I was wondering,
26:37in all your years,
26:38who do you feel
26:39was your,
26:40not rival,
26:41but maybe, um,
26:42biggest,
26:43parang frenemy?
26:44Hindi naman frenemy.
26:45Competitor, I guess.
26:46Parang kanino ko ba
26:47lagi minamatch?
26:49Hindi ako makapinpoint
26:50ng arena
26:51where I can identify
26:53what you're talking about.
26:54Meaning,
26:55sana kasi
26:56makapick out ako ng arena
26:58where yung arena nayon
26:59will be me
27:00and that kind of
27:01what you're talking about.
27:02Like a competitor.
27:03Kasi I feel
27:04as a humble person,
27:05I feel
27:06wala akong competitor.
27:07Wala akong competitor.
27:08Why?
27:09Look,
27:10nung pumasok ako ng
27:111990
27:12and I had the album
27:13Bumanat ka ng Pangit,
27:14hindi pinaramdam sakin
27:15ng competitor.
27:16Why?
27:17Because
27:18after 10 days,
27:19I went platinum
27:20straight up.
27:21So,
27:22hindi ko naramdaman,
27:23hindi pinaramdam sakin
27:24ng taong bayan.
27:25No, not kalaban,
27:26but hindi pinaramdam sakin
27:27ng taong bayan,
27:28yung taong bayan,
27:29yung, yung,
27:30yung ano,
27:31yung,
27:32the surging of
27:34of how it feels like
27:35na,
27:36you know,
27:37na
27:38nagkiliking ka
27:39kaagad
27:40or maybe
27:41the slow part of it.
27:42Wala,
27:43hindi nila pinaramdam eh.
27:44After 10 days,
27:45platinum,
27:4640,000 copies.
27:47So,
27:48so wait,
27:49ano,
27:50iti siya sabihin nila,
27:51tega, tega,
27:52so,
27:53are you going second platinum?
27:54Oh yes,
27:55wait for it.
27:56So,
27:57the next time around,
27:58second platinum,
27:59the next time around,
28:00third platinum,

31:59so the only contact was 88,
32:00so the only contact was 88,
32:01so the only contact was 88,
32:02so the only contact was 88,
32:03so the only contact was 88,
32:04so the only contact was 88,
32:05so the only contact was 88,
32:06so the only contact was 88,
32:07so the only contact was 88,
32:08so the only contact was 88,
32:09so the only contact was 88,
32:10so the only contact was 88,
32:11so the only contact was 88,
32:12so the only contact was 88,
32:13so the only contact was 88,
32:14so the only contact was 88,
32:15so the only contact was 88,
32:16so the only contact was 88,
32:17so the only contact was 88,
32:18So you met each other because you saw each other in clubs?
32:22He was a street dancer.
32:23I was a street dancer at that time.
32:25Okay.
32:2686.
32:27He was a breakdancer.
32:28I was a breakdancer too.
32:30His group was Spindicate.
32:32I forgot.
32:34Spindicate.
32:35My group was Ground Control.
32:37I was with the IS.
32:39That's why there's that.
32:41IS.
32:42You know, right?
32:43So that's my group.
32:45So we met at Glorieta as a street dancer.
32:50Then when we met,
32:52a few time from that,
32:54he suddenly said,
32:55maybe you want to do lyrics for me?
32:59Maybe 8 rhymes for me?
33:01Maybe I'll make a song.
33:03Then he said,
33:04I'll make a song entitled Christmas Hip Hop.
33:07I said, I hope the lyrics are good.
33:11Well, you know, it's up to you.
33:13It's all about your kind of Christmas.
33:15Okay.
33:16So I did that in Makati.
33:17I did that.
33:18Then I sent it to him in Mandaluyog.
33:20Because that's where he lived.
33:22It's like you're part of Makati, right?
33:24Glorieta, San Lorenzoville, IS.
33:26Yeah.
33:27At that time,
33:28you really are breaking the norm
33:30of having yourself introduced to people.
33:33Balloons.
33:34First, as a street dancer.
33:35Second, as a DJ and an MC.
33:37And then third, probably as a performer.
33:39So, you know,
33:40that's what's not available at the time.
33:43Because there's no social media, right?
33:45There's actual networking.
33:47Yeah.
33:48Our social media was the street.
33:50It was the street.
33:52Our cell phone was the street dance.
33:54That's our cell phone.
33:56And our, how do you say it, followers,
33:59are the people who watch the street dancing.
34:02I was wondering though,
34:03if there are songs that until now,
34:05you still enjoy doing,
34:07and are there songs that,
34:09can you request to me?
34:11No.
34:12I'm so kind to people.
34:15Whatever song you ask me to do,
34:18or you ask me to sing,
34:19or you ask me to perform,
34:21I oblige, you know?
34:22Easily.
34:23Wholeheartedly, I'm happy.
34:25It's not like,
34:27you know,
34:28it's hard to sing that.
34:30You know, something like that.
34:31No.
34:32All my songs, I love them all.
34:34All my songs are a part of my struggle in life.
34:38All of them, I treat them as my best friend.
34:41Especially,
34:42if you have a bad dream,
34:44especially,
34:46Banyo Queen.
34:48You said Banyo Queen to Boy Abunda,
34:51was that you?
34:52Yeah.
34:53Yeah.
34:54Because,
34:55the essence of Banyo Queen is,
34:57create a song,
34:59that when it's sung,
35:01or used by people,
35:03they will be transformed into a very happy,
35:06exciting,
35:07festive mood.
35:09That was my requirement to do that song.
35:11Pero,
35:12imagine me,
35:13on that same day and age,
35:15when I did that song,
35:17it was around year 98 of December.
35:20It was 1998 of December.
35:22It was,
35:24the downest part of my life.
35:26I was so lonely,
35:28with nobody,
35:30in Japan,
35:31all alone,
35:32by myself,
35:33making hanap buhay,
35:35alone in the condo,
35:36of my boss,
35:37Yukio Tobita.
35:39Shout out to you, boss.
35:40The loneliest part,
35:41no girlfriend,
35:42no nothing.
35:43Imagine that loneliness,
35:45na ang requirement ko,
35:47please,
35:48I'm talking to myself,
35:49create the most happy song,
35:52they will ever hear.
35:53That was created,
35:55Banyo Queen.
35:56Wow.
35:57Imagine that, no?
35:58Out of your darkest moment,
35:59comes this happy song.
36:00But hold on,
36:01sabi mo you were in Japan,
36:02hindi ko alam na ito,
36:03may nakapadala sa Japan?
36:04Yeah, yeah,
36:0597, 98, 99.
36:07At that time,
36:08anong ginagawa mo do?
36:10Kasi remember,
36:11at that time,
36:1297,
36:13diba pinasok na ang Pilipinas
36:14ng piracy?
36:16Ah, okay.
36:18A lot of actors,
36:19a lot of singers,
36:21bands,
36:22walang hanap buhay,
36:23walang contract,
36:24zero nothing, right?
36:25So, because of piracy,
36:27siyempre lahat,
36:28down slide,
36:29what can you do
36:30in the Philippines?
36:31None.
36:32Kung meron man,
36:33you know,
36:34it's the TV.
36:35But if you don't have anything
36:36to do about the TV,
36:37then you're out.
36:38So, ako,
36:39hanap ako ng greener pasture.
36:40And the country I found out
36:41was Japan.
36:42So I started going to Japan,
36:43and I started performing there
36:44every day,
36:45every night,
36:46you know,
36:47for six straight days
36:48in the whole week,
36:49or three straight months.
36:50Straight yun,
36:51as in,
36:52straight.
36:53Pahinga mo lang
36:54a Sunday.
36:55But,
36:56sa Sunday,
36:57meron pang tumatawag sayo,
36:59saying,
37:00Pwede ka ba kumanta sa Binagang?
37:01Pwede ka ba kumanta
37:02sa Kasalan?
37:03Yes, of course,
37:04kasi kailangan ko na
37:05hanap buhay.
37:06So,
37:07the whole nine yards
37:08of nine months,
37:09or three months,
37:10okay,
37:11yun,
37:12dire direcho.
37:13Then,
37:14uuwi ka ng Philippines,
37:15five days,
37:16recreate your visa again,
37:17then come back.
37:18Ganun yun,
37:19for three straight years.
37:20Ganun,
37:21katinde.
37:22Dito po ba kayo lumaki,
37:23sa Manila?
37:24Yeah,
37:25sa Dungalo,
37:26Parañape.
37:27I opened up
37:28a company,
37:29a rap label
37:30named Dungalo Records.
37:31Yes,
37:32that's right,
37:33and you actually have
37:34artists under your label,
37:35di ba?
37:36Yeah.
37:37Where did this idea
37:38to have your own record label
37:39come from?
37:40Ah,
37:41kasi I have the feeling na,
37:42they can take me away
37:43from Dungalo
37:44as a movie actor,
37:45as a rapper,
37:46na sikat na rapper na ako,
37:47o na sumikat na akong
37:48movie actor.
37:49They can take me away
37:50from Dungalo,
37:51but they can never
37:52take Dungalo
37:53away from me.
37:54That's why,
37:55sumikat na ako
37:56Dungalo the word
37:57is the one
37:58na sinama ko
37:59together with me
38:00para makakreate
38:01ng Dungalo Records.
38:02Parang ano yan,
38:03pay homage
38:04to your home.
38:05Di ba,
38:06now your kids
38:07are all grown up
38:08and also parang
38:09very interested
38:10in the music industry.
38:11Kasama mo ba sila
38:12in the label?
38:13Ah,
38:14no.
38:15Kasi hindi pa naman
38:16talaga sila
38:17fully pledged
38:18artist.
38:19Hindi pa naman.
38:20May panganay,
38:214D,
38:22creates here and there
38:23mga songs,
38:24singles,
38:25and all that.
38:26Pero slowly,
38:27but surely,
38:28you know like
38:29he's getting there.
38:30And then,
38:31yung mga anak ko naman
38:32na iba,
38:33si Jaslee
38:34and si Ichiro,
38:35they like rap.
38:36They perform with me
38:37on stage,
38:38right,
38:39in other countries.
38:40But for now,
38:41they're not keen
38:42of doing songs
38:43and singles
38:44and all that.
38:45Kasi,
38:46they're into school.
38:47Di ba,
38:48heavily into school.
38:49So,
38:50yanak muna ako
38:51na meantime niya.
38:52How old is 4D
38:53po ba?
38:54Oh, 22.
38:55He just graduated.
38:56Fresh grad pa pala.
38:58Wow!
38:59Congratulations kay 4D.
39:02And with the
39:03amount of time
39:04you've spent in the industry,
39:05what are the biggest
39:06similarities and differences
39:07that you can see
39:08from before
39:09and now?
39:10Similarity,
39:11people can readily
39:12identify that.
39:13Easily.
39:14Pero,
39:15ito yung mahirap
39:16na gusto kong
39:17i-exemplify sa kanila.
39:19Na hindi nila napapansin.
39:20And like,
39:21you know,
39:22may kasabihan tayo na
39:23ano man yung
39:24napapansin mo,
39:25wag mo na sabihin sa kapwa
39:26kasi napapansin na nila yun eh.
39:27Makakatulong ka sa kapwa
39:28kung yung mga
39:29hindi nila napapansin,
39:30yun ang sasabihin mo sa kanila.
39:31Makakatulong ka,
39:32lalo.
39:33So,
39:34ano yung itutukoy ko na
39:35itutulong.
39:36Kasi ganito,
39:37long time ago,
39:38maybe 34 years ago,
39:39maybe like 40 years ago,
39:40ang ways and means
39:41palagi ng industry is
39:42napakahirap sumikat.
39:43The hardest part
39:44of being what you are
39:45at that time
39:46is to be
39:47the best
39:48that you can be.
39:49So,
39:50the hardest part
39:51of being what you are
39:52at that time
39:53is to be popular.
39:54That's the hardest.
39:55Not only that,
39:56the hardest part
39:57to get there
39:58is first
39:59to be
40:00introduced.
40:01That's probably
40:02much harder.
40:03Or,
40:04equal to that is
40:05the hardest,
40:06again,
40:07is to be discovered.
40:08Diba?
40:09So,
40:10being discovered,
40:11mahirap.
40:12May introduce ka sa
40:13to the Philippines,
40:14napakahirap.
40:15And then,
40:16yung sumikat,
40:17mas lalong mahirap.
40:18Pero,
40:19pang ikaw naman
40:20sumikat
40:21at
40:22nagkaroon ka ng chance
40:23sumikat,
40:24it will be
40:25guaranteed long.
40:26Mahaba.
40:27Now,
40:28talk about now.
40:29Madiscover?
40:30Madali.
40:31Magpipindot ka lang
40:32ng elevator,
40:33mabapiral ka na.
40:34Gumawa ka lang
40:35ng kalokohan
40:36sa internet,
40:37sa Facebook,
40:38sa whatever,
40:39sa TikTok,
40:40madidiscover ka na.
40:41Sisikat ka?
40:42Yes.
40:43But,
40:44ito ang
40:45reverse reward.
40:46Pero,
40:47give it one week,
40:48sobrang galing
40:49sumikat ngayon,
40:50it's available
40:51for everyone.
40:52Everyone can
40:53be sikat
40:54at any
40:55given moment.
40:56So,
40:57give it one week,
40:58or give it
40:59just overnight.
41:00Tomorrow,
41:01there will be
41:02another person
41:03trying to
41:04outlapse you.
41:05One week again,
41:06there will be
41:07another viral person
41:08against you.
41:09Napaka-short live
41:10ng kasikatan.
41:11Yun
41:12ang
41:13counter-reward.
41:14For me,
41:15as a lesson for that,
41:16kung ngayon
41:17sikat ka,
41:18panahon na ito,
41:19sisikat,
41:20make sure
41:21you reinvent
41:22yourself.
41:23Two,
41:24you repress
41:25yourself.
41:26And three,
41:27you reset yourself
41:28all the time.
41:30And make sure
41:31you do things
41:32ahead of people,
41:33make sure
41:34you do things
41:35ahead of everyone,
41:36and you
41:37make sure
41:38you do things
41:39that are
41:40so unique
41:41to everyone.
41:42That's great advice.
41:43And,
41:44coming from you,
41:45you know,
41:46as a rapper,
41:47musician,
41:48businessman as well.
41:49Of course,
41:50aside from being
41:51a father and all,
41:52now that you have
41:53all this experience
41:54and you're able
41:55to manage
41:56all these roles,
41:57which do you think
41:58is the toughest?
41:59Being a rapper,
42:00being a businessman?
42:01Kasi kailangan
42:02binabalansa
42:03yung dalawang yun,
42:04diba?
42:05Pinakamahirap talaga is
42:06for people to
42:07cling onto you,
42:08love you,
42:09support you,
42:10and appreciate you
42:11for the longest time.
42:12Yun ang pinakamahirap.
42:13Kasi you cannot
42:14buy people
42:15to like you.
42:16You cannot,
42:17you know,
42:18make utos to them
42:19and say,
42:20hey,
42:21like me all the time,
42:22like me every day.
42:23Kahit nga sa Facebook,
42:24hindi ka nila like
42:25all the time.
42:26Minsan nga,
42:27nagpo-post ka nga,
42:28hindi pa rin nila
42:29nakikita yung post mo,
42:30you know?
42:31So,
42:32ibig sabihin,
42:33pag ganun ang situation,
42:34make sure
42:35na be yourself
42:36as you are
42:37all the time
42:38and make sure talaga
42:39you count your blessings.
42:40That's the one.
42:41Kasi,
42:42guaranteed,
42:43if you have blessings,
42:44there's one.
42:45Minsan,
42:46there's one.
42:47So,
42:48when you count it
42:49and faith sees you
42:50counting it
42:51and God sees you
42:52counting your blessings,
42:53God will appreciate you back.
42:54Diba?
42:55Pero kung nakikita niya
42:56hindi ka nagbibilang
42:57ng blessings mo
42:58kahit gano ka titing,
42:59kahit gano ka liit,
43:00kahit gano ka konting blessings
43:01at hindi ka niya
43:02nakikita
43:03nagbibilang ka,
43:04then siguro
43:05pag wala namang blessings,
43:06maka hindi ka nari magbila
43:07just the same.
43:08Yun ang ibig sabihin.
43:09So,
43:10you know,
43:11the best outlook in life
43:12is to really
43:13count your blessings
43:14and make sure
43:15you appreciate them.
43:16Just like
43:17the way you
43:18appreciate it
43:19for your own family,
43:20for yourself,
43:21and for your community.
43:22Yun ang number one.
43:23Kasi,
43:24there's nothing in life.
43:25For me,
43:26there are only
43:27two or three
43:28things in life.
43:29Achieve things,
43:30live life,
43:31and serve God.
43:32Those three.
43:33These three
43:34are the super keys
43:35to make you happy.
43:36Other than that,
43:37there's none.
43:38Guaranteed,
43:39sa mga nakita ko sa tao,
43:40millions of tao
43:41na same story,
43:42same old story,
43:43like a movie,
43:44same old story.
43:45Nakita ko na yan,
43:46napanood ko na yan.
43:47Repeated,
43:48itong tatlo
43:49ang guarantee.
43:50Achieve things in life,
43:51live life,
43:52and serve God.
43:53Well,
43:54that's great advice.
43:55And you really are
43:56truly blessed,
43:57Sir Andrew.
43:58Nakikita naman namin yan
43:59in the way things are
44:00in your career
44:01as a musician,
44:02your career
44:03as a businessman.
44:04Tawa mo ba
44:05yung sinasabit niya
44:06that you're one of
44:07the first people
44:08to have
44:09a Filipino shareholder
44:10in Facebook?
44:11Tama po ba yun?
44:12May I rephrase?
44:13The only Filipino
44:14in the Philippines.
44:15Okay, yeah.
44:16Only Pinoy in the Philippines
44:17na shareholder sa Facebook.
44:18Kasi kung meron isang Filipino
44:19nandito sa Pilipinas
44:20na shareholder din,
44:21he will tell me,
44:22hey, shareholder din ako.
44:23Wala.
44:24Wala ka.
44:25Pero meron mga Filipinos
44:26abroad
44:27na shareholder.
44:28Pero matagal na po
44:29ba kayong shareholder?
44:30Pero ako yung
44:31among the first.
44:32Ah,
44:33so you're
44:34one of the first
44:35Filipinos
44:36na shareholder
44:37sa Facebook.
44:38Yes.
44:39Ah, wow.
44:40Why?
44:41Because I hold
44:42an A+.
44:43An A+.
44:44Shareholding.
44:45Ibi sabihin nun,
44:46I have the power
44:47to vote.
44:48Ah, wow.
44:49Okay.
44:50Yeah, yeah.
44:51I have the power
44:52to vote.
44:53Go get a many shares.
44:54Pag merong shareholders
44:55meeting
44:56every year
44:57sa San Francisco,
44:58tapos merong resolve.
44:59Resolve.
45:00Resolve, for example.
45:01Resolve.
45:02Magpapapasok tayo
45:03ng mga outsider
45:04na maraming shares,
45:05pero ililimit natin
45:06ang vote nila.
45:07Resolve.
45:08Yes or no?
45:09Or,
45:10Resolve.
45:11Magdag tayo ng
45:12another person
45:13for the board.
45:14Resolve.
45:15Ganun,
45:16baboto ka.
45:17So,
45:18very few
45:19yung merong ganun
45:20A-plus na
45:21privilege.
45:22And,
45:23I'm one of those.
45:24Wow.
45:25So,
45:26did you decide
45:27on your own
45:28that you wanted
45:29to invest
45:30in Facebook long ago
45:31or may nag-advise
45:32sa'yo na,
45:33uy, parang okay to?
45:34Ano, may nag-advise sa'kin
45:35na friend ko
45:36something for you.
45:37Sabi ko, ano yan?
45:38Next week,
45:39Facebook will buy
45:40Instagram.
45:41Okay?
45:42So, pag bilin nila
45:43na Instagram,
45:44maybe,
45:45I'm thinking,
45:46sabi niya,
45:47maybe,
45:48it's hey time
45:49for you to get in.
45:50Kasi pag binilin na nila yan,
45:51baka magbago na yan.
45:52You know?
45:53Okay.
45:54So, sige.
45:55So, research ako.
45:56Research.
45:57Then,
45:58naka-find ako na way.
45:59Naka-find ako na way
46:00to have that.
46:01So,
46:02yung mga na-accumulate
46:03kung mga pera-bill
46:04ng artista
46:05yan,
46:06inalo ko talaga.
46:07Ininvest ko talaga.
46:08After nung binilin nila
46:09yung Instagram,
46:10they closed Facebook.
46:11Nung,
46:12naging popular na na,
46:13you can see it
46:14in the internet
46:15kapag ginoogle mo,
46:16Facebook buys Instagram.
46:17That was the year.
46:18So,
46:19nung binilin na nila yan,
46:20sinara nila.
46:21Na-lock kami inside.
46:22Na-lock kami kasi
46:23nandun na kami.
46:24Nakabili na kape.
46:25So,
46:26it's so happy na
46:27naging popular ngayon
46:28yung Facebook
46:29kasi siyempre,
46:30binilin na niya
46:31yung competitor niyan.
46:32Number one competitor
46:33ng Facebook at the time
46:34so,
46:35all the people are
46:36lodging to get in
46:37pero,
46:38sarado,
46:39sinara.
46:40Nung sinara naman,
46:41iwan kami sa loob.
46:42At that time,
46:43Facebook was $38
46:44per share.
46:45So,
46:46nung $38,
46:47natalo nga na kami ngayon.
46:48Not me,
46:49but certain people
46:50like me
46:51na nasa loob.
46:52Ano bang
46:53product ng Facebook?
46:54Ano bang tangible
46:55product ng Facebook?
46:56Mayroon may cellphone,
46:57may darating ba kayong ganyan,
46:58cellphone,
46:59bla, bla, bla.
47:00No.
47:01Sabi niya,
47:02it's just
47:03a social media platform.
47:04Oh,
47:05no tangible product?
47:06No.
47:07Naglabasin yung iba,
47:08nagpull out na ng pera.
47:09Pag pull out,
47:10pumagsak ang Facebook
47:11from $38 to $32.
47:12Then,
47:13siyempre,
47:14eto na ngayon,
47:15nagbentahan ngayon
47:16yung mga tao.
47:17Ako,
47:18I remain.
47:19I remain,
47:20stand fast
47:21and I believe that
47:22it can grow again,
47:23it can grow back.
47:24Pero,
47:25nagalala din ako siyempre
47:26but at a certain point,
47:27nagalala ako
47:28but naniwala ako na,
47:29no, no, no,
47:30kasi may gap yun ako.
47:31Wow!
47:32So,
47:33nagalala ko pala ng
47:34keen sense of
47:35not just the music industry
47:36pati business,
47:37pati negosyo,
47:38diba?
47:39So,
47:40great career advice
47:41from you,
47:42Sir Andrew.
47:43I learned so much
47:44from you today
47:45about the music industry,
47:46pagnaregosyo
47:47and of course,
47:48I think,
47:49ang takeaway ko talaga
47:50from this interview
47:51is the value of persistence
47:52and hard work
47:53dahil nakita namin yun sa'yo
47:54and we see it until now
47:55which is really inspiring.
47:56Thank you,
47:57thank you.
47:58I appreciate it much.
47:59But,
48:00Sir Andrew,
48:01before we wrap this up,
48:02we have a short game
48:03prepared for you.
48:04Nakakita,
48:05nakakidalong tanong ka pala namin,
48:06no?
48:07Isa pangalan eh,
48:08na-joke lang.
48:09One and a half.
48:10And then,
48:11Sir Andrew,
48:12eto,
48:13we have a short game for you.
48:14I'll read the mechanics
48:15kasi surprise game po ito.
48:16It's a rhyme game.
48:17So,
48:18magbibigay po ako ng salita
48:19and then you have to give me
48:20isang salita
48:21na may katugma.
48:22So,
48:23you give me a rhyming word
48:24to whatever word
48:25I will give you
48:26and then explain lang
48:27if it has any relevance
48:28sa'yo.
48:29Okay.
48:30So,
48:31the first word,
48:32siyempre.
48:33How can we pass up this word?
48:34The first word is
48:35rapper.
48:36Pinakamahirap.
48:37Rapper.
48:38Oo nga.
48:39What rhymes with rapper?
48:40Para pong family feud.
48:41Magbibigay ng salita
48:42na nagribe sa rapper.
48:43Wow.
48:44Ang hirap niya na.
48:45Ang hirap niya kasi
48:46very delicate
48:47ni word na yan eh.
48:48Like,
48:49you know,
48:50rapper.
48:51Oh,
48:52like here.
48:53Here's the word.
48:54Dapper.
48:55Nice.
48:56Because,
48:57of course,
48:58ikaw ay dapper.
48:59Dapper rapper
49:00but I consider myself
49:01as a dapper dad.
49:02Oh,
49:03that's nice.
49:04Dapper dad.
49:05Ganda.
49:06Like,
49:07you know,
49:08like I dress up
49:09for occasion
49:10and things like that
49:11but I maintain
49:12my simplicity
49:13all the time.
49:14Nice.
49:15Nice,
49:16nice.
49:17Okay,
49:18sige.
49:19Next is
49:20paranyak eh.
49:21Alam mo,
49:22baka,
49:23baka hindi nila sila
49:24maliwalang rapper ako eh.
49:25Kasi naihirapan ako
49:26mag-create ng mga
49:27rhymes for you.
49:28Oh,
49:29nanggaling sa akin
49:30tong mga words na ito.
49:31Paranyak eh.
49:32Yes.
49:33Okay,
49:34umaatake.
49:35Nice.
49:36Bilis ko na.
49:37Yeah,
49:38because as a
49:39paranyak eh boy,
49:40when we see
49:41competition,
49:42we attack.
49:43Hindi umaatras
49:44sa laban.
49:45Dapper rapper
49:46na umaatake
49:47sa paranyak eh.
49:48How about
49:49the word
49:50kanta?
49:51Ayan,
49:52mas mandali.
49:53Kanta.
49:54Just like me again,
49:55sinta.
49:56Lover boy.
49:57Ganon?
49:58Sinta,
49:59meron akong kanta
50:00at meron akong kanta
50:01para sa aking sinta.
50:02Nice.
50:03You're a lover,
50:04not a fighter.
50:05How about
50:06platinum?
50:07Platinum.
50:08Mahirap
50:09i-rhyme yan eh.
50:10I'm not saying
50:11mahirap,
50:12but you know,
50:13in a song,
50:14mahirap
50:15i-rhyme yan
50:16na medyo
50:17mapapagtali mo
50:18kagad.
50:19So,
50:20that's the reason
50:21why rappers
50:22don't teach themselves
50:23using that word.
50:24So,
50:25that's why
50:26rappers
50:27don't teach themselves
50:28using that word.
50:29But,
50:30I did that.
50:31I crossed the line
50:32and I did that
50:33year 2000
50:34when I did
50:35Much More Wholesome.
50:36Yeah.
50:37Much More Wholesome,
50:38the album,
50:39the second album
50:40from Sony,
50:41Philippines.
50:42Instead of saying
50:43in the song
50:44platinum,
50:45I said
50:46plat-i-n-u-m.
50:47So,
50:48plat-i-n-u-m.
50:49So,
50:50I said
50:51plat-i-n-u-m
50:52and then
50:53I rhymed it
50:54like
50:55hit them.
50:56So,
50:57I didn't use
50:58the word platinum.
50:59But,
51:00of course,
51:01I used the word
51:02platinum.
51:03But,
51:04I didn't miss work.
51:05Make creative
51:06way around it.
51:07Work around.
51:08Nice!
51:09Okay.
51:10And,
51:11how about this?
51:12For our last
51:13word,
51:14how about
51:15familia?
51:16It's not yet
51:17the rhyme of the song,
51:18right?
51:19Did you come up
51:20with that?
51:21No,
51:22I promise.
51:23Okay.
51:24Takilya.
51:25The family
51:26who watches
51:27the movie
51:28makes takilya.
51:29Nice!
51:30Perfect score
51:31for Mr. Andrew E.

52:15I'll upload that
52:16for everyone's
52:17happiness.
52:18And then again,
52:19come December 11,
52:20Wednesday,
52:22for the Andrew E.
52:23One Time For Your Mind

52:46It will not be
52:47the usual Andrew E.
52:48in the fiesta,

53:01Because,
53:02when I say surprise antics,
53:03imagine me,
53:0434 years of waiting
53:05to have a
53:06major solo concert.
53:07That means,
53:08I've been thinking
53:09for 34 years
53:10how to entertain
53:11people.
53:12So,
53:13that's it,
