00:00I started on this morning and then they weren't really using me and then Martin came on board
00:05and he was like, why are we not using Alison Hammond? And he was the guy who made me the
00:10girl.
00:11That's great.
00:12I'm really thankful to Martin for that. He's a wonderful man. He's going to be sadly missed.
00:17We're all talking about it behind the scenes. Everyone's really sad.
00:20Our next guest is reading about the show she works on, on the front page of the paper that's
00:23made in this building. I mean, this really is showbiz eating itself. Front page of the
00:28Sun.
00:29Thank you for having me on first of all.
00:31You're very welcome. And what a day. So this has never happened before. We've never had
00:35a guest on who's reading about the show, one of the shows she works on, on the front page
00:40of the paper that's produced in this building. What do you know of this story?
00:44Well, do you know what? We've worked, well, I've worked with Martin for 10 years now and
00:49I'll be honest with you, I'm absolutely devastated because he's been a real rock for the show.
00:56He's been absolutely wonderful, but it's totally understandable as to why he's leaving.
01:01We all know about his wife, Fiona, and we get why he's leaving. It's very amicable what
01:06he's doing. He doesn't want to leave, but he has to for family reasons. And we all understand
01:11that.
01:12Yeah. I mean, the headline says Morning has broken. It may well have been permanently
01:17broken had he not been around for the last few years.
01:20Well, he's the one, shall I be honest with you, he's the one who got me back on TV. He
01:26literally was like, Alison's really good. Why don't we use her? So if it wasn't for
01:30Martin, you wouldn't be seeing Alison Hammond. So we owe him a lot, don't we? We owe him
01:34Alison Hammond. He is the man who got me back on TV because there was a time when I wasn't,
01:41I think it was 2007 or eight. I can't read. I can't read or remember.
01:46So was it Big Brother?
01:47Maybe 10 years ago.
01:48Was it 2002 Big Brother?
01:492002. Then I started on This Morning and then they weren't really using me. And then Martin
01:55came on board. He's like, why are we not using Alison Hammond? And he was the guy who made
02:00me the girl.
02:01That's great.
02:02So, you know, I'm really thankful to Martin Frizzell. He's a wonderful man. He's going
02:07to be sadly missed. We're all talking about it behind the scenes. Everyone's really sad.
02:12Everyone's really gutted.
02:13And you received an email yesterday. Is that right?
02:15Yeah, I got an email.
02:16Have you talked to him?
02:17Yes, I have spoken to him. I've sent him a little message.
02:19How's he doing?
02:20I think, you know, he's upset as well. It's an emotional situation. You know, he's very
02:25emotional.
02:26When are you back there?
02:27I'm back on Friday.
02:28Tomorrow?
02:29Yeah, he'll be there.
02:30Yeah.
02:31The weirdest thing is he's leaving and then he's straight into organising the next day's
02:34show. Do you know what I mean? He's still there until the spring.
02:36It's always been about the show.
02:37So, yeah. And he still, he wants whoever's going to be his predecessor, he wants them
02:42to have a nice journey into the show. So he's going to be there to help them.
02:46Yeah. And Fiona, what a ledge.
02:48I know. I love Fiona.
02:50I remember being at a party with Fiona. I've never laughed so much in my life. She was
02:54so, so funny and a lovely, lovely woman.
