00:00The government has already, in the triennial plan of contrast to the antibiotic resistance,
00:09invested 40 million euros per year, so a structural investment, to fight the antibiotic resistance.
00:15In addition, Minister Giorgetti and Minister Schillaci in Ancona announced the investment
00:22of 21 million euros in the so-called PUSH mechanism, so sustainability in investment
00:28in research. The government, in law of balance, invests 100 million euros for the so-called
00:34reserve antibiotics, that is, antibiotics capable of curing the pathologies for which there is
00:40no current therapeutic alternative. A strong, constant commitment of our Ministry, which
00:46is added to other measures taken. I want to remind in positive that Italy is the first
00:52country in Europe to trace antibiotics in the zootechnical line. This has led to a reduction
01:00of 46.7% of the intake of antibiotics by breeding animals. Consider that out of 100
01:10antibiotics taken by humans, 50% comes from food, so knowing that Italian meat has had
01:18a sensitive impact on consumption and therefore on the intake by breeding animals, makes us look
01:26at this as well, with great optimism, and makes us look at the fact that we have a
01:32high-performing zootechnical line at the European and global level.
