00:00So, hi, this is Habib here at Umami Street Food 167 Elm Grove.
00:07So, we've recently refurbished.
00:10We've been here since 2002 and we just thought that, you know, we just need to freshen things
00:19up a little bit and take it to the next level, as it were.
00:25We've been well supported in all those years, humongous following, it's a bit of an institution.
00:33We do legendary, amazing, amazing food.
00:35And now we're bringing in more of the world flavors, different type of food from, because
00:39we are street food, selling amazing, amazing flavored food.
00:43We are getting in more world flavor foods from different parts of the world.
00:48So, we've got like Mexican tacos, we've got Katsu curries, we've got the Asian noodles.
00:54And then, obviously, you've got your jerk chicken, jerk chicken, amazing jerk chicken
00:58we've got, as well as the peri-peri, the Portuguese peri-peri chicken, the wraps and the shakes.
01:05And we're doing amazing dessert, which is s'mores, s'mores desserts.
01:10Yeah, so previously, when we first opened, it was very kind of rustic, shabby, chic feel
01:17to it, you know, very organic and everything like that.
01:21And that was, at that time, it was amazing.
01:23The look was like, you know, really, really good.
01:25We got the corrugated metals and things like that.
01:29So, when we first started off, it was a very predominantly grilled food, grilled chicken,
01:36peri-peri grilled chicken.
01:37So, going back 12 years ago, the peri-peri element was a huge, huge thing.
01:43And we did amazing peri-peri chicken, as well as amazing homemade burgers.
01:49Okay, so that was our biggest thing at that time.
01:53And gradually, gradually, we evolved and brought in Lebanese products, like capsules and things
01:59like that.
02:01And now, what we have done is, we have kept the peri-peri.
02:05We are well known for that, as well as our gourmet burgers, as well as the wraps.
02:10All of that is staying.
02:12Now, we added in things like ketsu, for example.
02:16It's a huge, huge demand for, you know, the ketsu curry from Japan.
02:21We got noodles from Hong Kong noodles.
02:24The noodles are just amazing, amazing stir-fry noodles.
02:29We got the jerk chicken from Jamaica.
02:32We got the Mexican brioche taco.
02:36So, we've gone from, it was a street food before, to now, really going for different
02:42part of the, different flavors from different parts of the world.
02:46So, it's a global world flavors, basically, because we are all about, you know, the Umayyad
02:51Umami is all about flavors, isn't it?
02:53The fifth taste and everything like that.
02:55So, we need, we are not a specific restaurant, like, you know, like an Asian restaurant or
03:00a Japanese restaurant.
03:01It's nothing like that.
03:02It was, it's always been street food from different part of the world.
03:06Now, we are actually going to different part of the world.
03:09So, before, we were, like, more concentrating on a few of the countries, but now, we are
03:16going to different, you know, from Mexico to Jamaica, Japan, and Asia, as well as Hong
03:22Kong as well.
03:23So, yeah, the food now is just, like, gone to another level.
03:27The presentation has also gone to another level as well.
03:30The feel, the ambience, the music, the decoration, the neon lighting, everything has gone to
03:35another level.
03:36That now, we are definitely, when we see this now, we were amazing before.
03:41Now, we've just gone to another level of amazingness.
03:44So, literally, when we are going around different places and everything, outside of London,
03:52this is pretty awesome.
03:53This is, you know, there's going to be hard to find anything much better than this.
03:58And the most important thing about our business has been, we've been hugely, hugely supported.
04:03So, we want to thank all our amazing customers who have always supported the independent
04:10businesses.
04:12So, they always supported us, and they're still supporting us.
04:15And we just wanted to give them something a little bit different.
04:17And they are really, really, really kind of enjoying that little bit of a difference.
04:21Now, as a gesture of goodwill, and what we wanted to do was, as we've been closed for
04:29three weeks to do the renovation, we wanted to open and give the customers something back.
04:38So, we're doing like this 25% off of the food and the drinks, from Monday, the 2nd of December
04:45to the Sunday, 8th of December.
