Motor-mad Ryan Camp transformed an old pick-up truck into the ULTIMATE racing vehicle. Ryan decided to build his own mud truck after attending events and watching other drivers compete. His truck, Sick 50 Mega Truck, can jump over hills and race through four-feet deep mud.The 429 stone truck started life as an old 1950 Chevrolet full body truck. It took Ryan, 35, from Georgia, USA, a year to complete his dream mud truck.

00:00MASSIVE VEHICLES, HUGE WHEELS, LOUD ENGINES AND LOTS OF MUD.
00:13This is the intense and dirty world of mega mud trucks.
00:19The adrenaline rush is like no other.
00:24It's unbelievable.
00:26We have different events at every event.
00:27to be the tire pull. There's hill and hole event, that's where we jump the truck, cross
00:34three hills as a timed event. There will also be mud drags where we're in the mud, side
00:39by side drag racing. It's better than any drug.
00:43001 01 An avid fan of mega truck events, Ryan Kemp
00:48from Georgia, USA, felt he could no longer stay on the sidelines and decided to have
00:53his own competition standard vehicle built, so he could take part himself.
00:58That original truck is just a two wheel drive low rider street truck. Bought it over in
01:03South Carolina, I made about a four hour drive, basically there and back, bought the truck,
01:08took it to BMF Fab, they began the process of starting the chassis.
01:13It took a whole year and an outlay of $80,000 for his 650 mega truck to be finished.
01:21It's a 1950 Chevrolet, a full body truck, it's all steel, it has a 540 blower motor,
01:29it's a 1271 BDS street blower, runs on alcohol. It's got two and a half ton axles, front and
01:37rear. It has 20 inch travel Scott shocks, these are the 13.6 26 BKT 171s, they've been
01:45cut and scooped for more traction. The rims are powder coated with a metallic finish.
01:53It's got the full roll cage, five point harnesses, special seats, everything about them, safety
02:01is definitely number one priority.
02:03Despite the extensive safety features, Ryan's wife Brittany still has her concerns.
02:08As his wife, I'm always his number one fan. When we were at West Georgia Mud Park a couple
02:13of weeks ago, they were just out playing around, they had done a jump and when he landed, he
02:19landed on two wheels and that is probably the most nerve wracking thing, is just knowing
02:25that there is a possibility that they could flip.
02:30So far, Ryan has taken part in eight competitions and today he's driving at Trucks Gone Wild
02:36at Bithlow Mud Racing in Florida, USA. Even before the event has begun, his vehicle is
02:42attracting attention.
02:44Very unique truck, one of a kind, beautiful paint job, beautiful truck, nice craftsmanship.
02:49I think it's beautiful, I've always loved older model vehicles. You can see one all
02:54jacked up with all the different equipment that you don't see on other vehicles.
02:59But it won't stay clean and shiny for long, as Ryan prepares for today's event.
03:05We have different events at every event, this one happens to be the tire pull, this is the
03:08tri-truck challenge, there will be a three truck team.
03:38We're two seconds off the leader, so right now we're in second place. So that's a great
03:44day overall, it was an awesome run, teammates did great, it was perfect.
03:49But the end of the competition isn't the end of Ryan's day with his pride and joy.
03:53As soon as I get home, I try to wash it as quick as I can, it comes off a little bit
03:56easier. The pressure washing process and all that, it can take anywhere from three to four
04:00hours to get it cleaned up.
04:03This truck will never be for sale, it's just something I've dreamed of and I have a year
04:07of my life and time and money involved in. I'll hang on to that one and give it to my
04:10son.
