00:12Could you tell me what it means to Children's Hospital having the snowflakes switched on this evening?
00:16It's such a big part of our year here at Sheffield Children's and it raises a huge amount for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
00:22This year raising over £430,000 to help support Sheffield Children's.
00:27Was it a good turnout do you think?
00:29It was a fantastic turnout, we had one of our biggest ever crowds here watching the switch on
00:34and it's just fantastic that the whole of Sheffield wants to get involved with our switch on.
00:38Snowflakes switch on day is a momentous day in our calendar every year, it means everything.
00:45They're a beacon of hope, it means that we're moving into the year towards the end of one year and the start of the next.
00:52Everybody supports, individual, business, schools, families, everybody who has sponsored a snowflake, it means everything.
01:01Do the children get excited about it at the hospital?
01:04They do, so we put lots of different lights on inside the hospital as well for our children who are here.
01:11Everybody who visits Sheffield Children's and the hospital but also lots of sites across Sheffield and South Yorkshire have got our lights now as well.
01:21And they're sponsored by special people, so the children, the families, the people of Sheffield and far beyond, I know this means a lot to everybody.
