I smiled and said, 'Sometimes, love can whirl—
It pulls you close, then turns you wrong.
Some fall too fast, where they don't belong.'

He nodded slowly, with a knowing sigh,
'People make mistakes; let them fly.
It's alright, my son, it's okay.
Love's a lesson we learn this way.'

'You think it's love, but it's just the ache,
Of holding on, afraid to break.
Mistakes get made, and that's alright.
In the end, you'll see the light.'

And so, my heart found peace to be,
