Issues related to the development proposal of several Chinese schools in Johor should be resolved expeditiously, said Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Dec 3).

Dr Wee raised the matter after pointing out that the proposed projects to develop SRJK (C) Kuek Ho Yao and SRJK (C) Sim Mow You including the relocation of Yong Peng High School have been pending since 2018.

00:00SJKC Kwek Koyaw.
00:02Actually, the land split has been held in March 2018.
00:09The former minister from Simpang Renggam, Dr Mazri Malik, said,
00:14if there is a land split, we will continue.
00:19So, because they also appealed,
00:22and this morning, the Minister of Education asked them to present the latest plan.
00:26For the Minister's information, they presented it in August.
00:30If this matter can be expedited,
00:32because I saw that the funds of 12 million have already been collected,
00:37there will be no problem.
00:39And I think for this implementation, we must get the green light from the Ministry.
00:44I appeal to the Minister so that this matter can be expedited.
00:48Secondly, also SJKC Simpang Renggam.
00:51I want to tell you, this school,
00:53in the past, when PH 1.0 said that this school does not need it.
00:57And because it is too close to SJKC Ladang Gresik,
01:01which we started in our time,
01:03and so far, this school, SJKC Ladang Gresik,
01:07which was moved from Tangkak straight to Johor Bahru,
01:11is already full.
01:12720 students and 50 are waiting outside.
01:16It means there is a need because this area is experiencing a major development.
01:21I once again appeal to the ministries,
01:24let's find a formula together to help.
01:27Isn't the national interest also part of the current government?
01:30So, the governance of the government, regardless of which government,
01:33in the past until today,
01:35we should guide the decisions that have been made by the Ministry of Education as a whole.
01:41So, I continue with one more appeal from my region,
01:46which is the Ministerial Region.
01:48I think the Ministry has accepted a proposal to move the school, SMPC.
01:55This school is called Yongping High School,
01:59which has been presented by the Ministry to the Ministry of Public Education.
02:04What is needed is a permit to move.
02:08In Yongping area, which is also my area,
02:11because the land is 0.22 acres,
02:159,500 square feet to accommodate more than 500 people.
02:20I think, as a representative of this area,
02:23I appeal so that this matter can be rectified.
02:26Just waiting for the decision from the Ministry.
02:30Why?
02:31Funds have been collected, 30 million.
02:33Yongping area can collect 30 million
02:36because all former students want to make this school,
02:40which is indeed in the hands of the government,
02:42and we want to build an agenda together to help the government.
02:46So, I appeal so much,
02:47because I met with the Minister on 9 April,
02:51and after that, the Minister has sent a letter to the Minister,
02:56and in around June,
02:58and I hope we can continue the discussion and seek a solution.
03:02This is my area.
03:04This is the appeal from the Black Area.
