00:00Today's International Day of People with Disability, what relevance do you think today still holds?
00:08It's coming up to the end of the first year of me being Disability Discrimination Commissioner
00:14and there is an overwhelming sense for me that this year has been déjà vu. We've been
00:21here before, we've had extensive reports, we've had numerous recommendations that have
00:28identified the inequality and discrimination that people with disability experience. We
00:34keep focusing in our strategies, our policies on inclusion and ability and potential. We
00:42need to really get to the root cause and deal with the systemic failures rather than tinkering
00:51around the edges and people doing feel good things for people with disability.
