The police are the bedrock of a nation’s growth and they must take a strong stance against any form of corruption or power abuse, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“That is why, I’m asking the police, not just the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC), to take a strong stand,” said the Prime Minister when launching the IPCC, Police, Friends and Collaborators (IPFC) initiative at the World Trade Centre on Tuesday (Dec 3).

00:00Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, salam sejahtera.
00:10If we want our country, the country of Ramadhan, to be advanced and prosperous, the issue of
00:17governance, integrity, balance of assets, and the continuity of power should be given
00:27importance.
00:28And according to my experience, I have been in the government for two years.
00:36PDRM is one of the most critical institutions or agencies to give meaning and guarantee
00:48the success of our program.
00:51So I would like to start by expressing my appreciation.
00:57Thank you to all members of the PDRM police force.
01:07How many civil servants, police, army, bomb, APM, and various civil servants involved in
01:22helping the victims of the flood.
01:28I went down to Terengganu with KSN and the police chief two days ago.
01:35We saw the police officers on duty.
01:38It's not about controlling the crime, but more than that.
01:43As a member of the community, they are concerned to help.
01:46And yes, even though we walk around, we see.
01:50But as a normal human being, I was affected.
01:54As you can see, they are not sleeping enough.
01:57But the work, if you ask me, has never been tiring or difficult.
02:03They accept it well.
02:05And the number of civil servants involved, 80,000 people are willing to help.
02:14And the police force is among the main actors because they are at the top of the world.
02:20In every region, every province, every village, they are there.
02:24So I chose to say that.
02:28So even though we must have the IPCC, and now the IPFC, which we are launching today.
02:37It cannot deny the fact that the PDRM remains as the main pillar of defense in the country.
02:47Which enables the economy to grow, investment to enter, people to feel calm and safe.
02:54To walk around comfortably day and night.
02:57Working shifts at night, from the hospital and so on.
03:01Feeling calm and safe because of the PDRM's strictness.
03:08That's why I asked the leadership of the police, not just the IPCC, to take a firm stance.
03:24The country demands change and improvement.
03:28And I represent the view that we have an effort.
03:34It's not a sloppy policy.
03:37It's not a mess of conflicts of nations and religions that will not benefit.
03:46But it's an effort to save the country.
03:50Safe.
03:52Improving the speed of economic growth that can save the nation.
04:01Improving the quality of education.
04:03Health care.
04:05Semiconductor hubs.
04:07A country that is advanced in AI.
04:10And all of these must be our focus.
04:14The condition is that the country is safe and under control.
04:18And better than practice.
04:22Lazy, arrogant, arrogant, cruel, oppressive.
04:27And when there is a little bit of forgetfulness,
04:30losing memory,
04:32insulting people who shouldn't be insulted.
04:35All of this, even though it's a small group,
04:37I would like to emphasize that the leadership of the police should not be negative at all
04:46in order to save the nation and the country.
