00:00Hi, I'm Nicole Wallace, I am the Service Lead for the Council for Environment, Sustainable
00:04Transport and Development Plans.
00:07Hi, I'm Julie Cromartie, I'm the Sustainable Transport Team Leader at the Highland Council.
00:13I think the opening went really, really well.
00:15Obviously, I think everyone was delighted with Santa.
00:17It's great to see the kids here because one of our big aims is very much about trying
00:20to get young people, you know, walking, wheeling and cycling and to improve their health, well-being
00:26and actually reduce emissions and form a more sustainable transport system.
00:31I think this is a really important day for us to see the opening of Riverside Way.
00:36It's helping to achieve some of the ambitions that we have for the city in respect of active
00:40travel and even better with the gorgeous weather we've got today as well.
00:44I think it's really attractive and it's been a positive piece of infrastructure that we've
00:48put in alongside the river.
00:49It makes a really nice link now from Buck Park right into the city centre and I think
00:55probably as anyone who's living or visiting the area can see that the numbers of people
01:00using it have gone up significantly as well.
01:02So we're really proud of it and we just would like to encourage more people to walk, wheel
01:07and cycle wherever they can.
