00:00It will be hosted in Rome until December 17 at the Nile de Joti Library of the House of Representatives,
00:10World Unseen, the revolutionary exhibition and event that, for the first time in Italy,
00:15will make photography usable even for those with visual disabilities.
00:19Canon is the one who devised and organized it, and is the spokesman for an ethical and sustainable approach
00:24to promote harmony between individuals, society and environment.
00:28World Unseen is an exhibition that we strongly wanted,
00:33which literally means the world that you don't see or that you don't see.
00:37The subtitle is the photographic exhibition that you don't need to see.
00:41And this already alludes to the purpose.
00:43The purpose is simply to show a photographic exhibition to those who,
00:46normally, until yesterday, could not see it.
00:49The differentiating factor is the technology.
00:51The technology that we have today allows us to print in elevation up to 4 mm
00:56and give a tactile experience to the blind people who can actually see the photograph.
01:04The exhibition, sponsored by the Italian Blind Italian Union and Italian Red Cross,
01:08marks a significant step towards the removal of sensory barriers
01:12and the democratization of the visual art.
01:15First of all, it is significant that this happens on the day
01:20when the International Day of People with Disabilities is honored,
01:27that is, all those people who ask to be able to participate in a path of culture,
01:37of knowledge, of participation in the life of communities,
01:42regardless of their disability.
01:45It is an example to follow and an indication for everyone
01:50of how a more inclusive society could and should be.
01:55Accessibility, inclusion, social responsibility, technological innovation and balance
02:00are no longer just concepts, but find a tangible realization in World Unseen.
02:05In a world that is moving fast, it is essential to take care of people with disabilities
02:13because too often we simply talk about disability
02:17and we do not take care of real needs and real needs.
02:22So for us today it is essential to be here in this context
02:27that sees photography at the center of this exhibition
02:34to allow all people with disabilities to have access to a world
02:40that generally has not allowed them.
