00:00What about the Calder Trophy Rookie of the Year honors, and I'll tell you what, Chris,
00:07the San Jose Sharks, they look like they've got an absolute superstar, the 18-year-old
00:11phenom in Celebrini.
00:13He is making every start an absolute winner.
00:16What have you seen so far going through the season and what's working for the young fella?
00:19Yeah, man, he's extremely impressive.
00:23He's only 18 years old, the first overall pick in this year's NHL draft right out of
00:28Boston University.
00:30He really does it all.
00:31I mean, his shot is lethal, he's got foot speed, he's got hockey sense, he's got 15
00:37points in 16 games.
00:38Now, he's four back of Mitchcoff for the rookie scoring race.
00:42This should be a phenomenal race right down to the last week of the NHL, but you look
00:46overall, he's first in points per game, he's first in shots per game at 3.19.
00:50Again, just as an 18-year-old kid being able to put pucks on net and producing the way
00:55that he is on this San Jose team that gives up a whole lot, right?
00:59You know, most of the time at 5-5, the puck is in their own end.
01:02So he's among the leaders, in fact, at forward position, nobody averages more ice time than
01:07him at 19.45.
01:09And you look at 9.94 points per game, enters this, his next game, I believe tomorrow night
01:15for the Sharks, a five-game point streak, he's got four goals, eight points, two powerplay
01:19points over that span, 25 minutes in one game over the span, right?
01:23To lean on an 18-year-old kid to play 25 minutes is remarkable, and the Sharks are
01:28fun at the moment.
01:29They're giving it up, they're playing through a lot of overs, but they've won 4-5, 24 goals
01:33over that span.
01:34They've had seven goals in two of those games.
01:36And you look at some of the edge stats over at NHL.com slash fantasy, he's among the leaders
01:41in mid-range shots on goal, 93rd percentile, 89th percentile in top shot speed as well.
01:47Some of our edge stats over at NHL.com should be a fantastic race, but I really like what
01:51I've seen from Celebrini.
01:52He would be my winner right now, and I do believe he's going to win the award.
